Shooting star celebrates the meeting of the lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi. It is known that the milky way separates these lovers and only given these couples to meet only once-in-a-year. The whole class joins the celebration by making their own paper doll representing the two: They cut, paste, and folded origami papers as they imagine the two lovers meeting in that magical river in space.
今週は七夕！ssクラスのみんなで一生懸命作った織姫、彦星、天の川、ランタンを飾りました🥰（保護者の皆さまは飾ったものを写真に撮りましたので、みてください！）クラフトはおりがみ、のり、はさみを使い上手に仕上げました。そして 7月7日はssのみんなに織姫と彦星のお話をして、七夕を祝いました。
UOI: Different Types of Building in the Community.
UOI：私たちのコミュニティにある色々な種類の建物
The whole class was introduced to the new unit using a PowerPoint presentation. They were exposed to different types of buildings in the community like hotels, schools, factories, etc.
今週から新しいユニットが始まりました。LOIの一番初めにする子ども達のすでに持っている知識を調べるアセスメントを、MindMapにしてみました。建物って何？という質問をしましたが、数個の答えしか返ってきませんでした。ですが、レッスンを通して沢山の答えを見つけていきます。LOI１の最後には同じ質問をして、どのくらい理解が増したかを調べます。楽しみですね♪
まずはパワーポイントプレゼンテーションで色々な建物を学びました。ホテル、学校、工場、アパートなどなど、沢山の建物を探究しました。
We also introduced to the class what a community is. We said that a community is a place where people live, work, and play in the same area. We used a book to see what a community looks like.
建物って何？の質問の次はコミュニティーって何？を質問してみました。始めはみんな分かりませんでした。ですが本やビデオを通してコミュニティーとは何なのかを見つけていきます。
Lastly, we reviewed the whole lesson by playing Karuta Game. The whole class had so much fun.
今週のUOIレッスンを締めくくったアクティビティは、建物カルタです。先生が「○○をする建物は？」等の質問をし、みんなは写真をみて当てます。とっても楽しかったです🥰

Phonics: Alphabet Chart
フォニックス：アルファベットチャート
After learning about snap words, the whole class dug deeper into their alphabet chart. We compared 2 different alphabet charts by finding out the initial sounds of each object in the chart. After that, they were given a blank chart and were able to make their own: in this activity, they were able to practice writing the whole alphabet and in the correct order.
先週スナップワードを学び、今週はアルファベットチャートを自分たちで完成させるアクティビティに取り掛かりました。まずは二つのアルファベットチャートの絵とレターを見比べました。アルファベットチャートにどんな絵を描けるかなどをみんなで考えた後、まっさらなチャートに自分たちで大文字小文字のアルファベットを書いて埋めていきます。まだ途中ですが、完成が楽しみですね！
Physical Education: Parachute Practice
体育：パラシュートの練習
This week, we started practicing our routine for the sports fest, but what made the practice more exciting is that we are now practicing with the song that we picked for the festival. We all can wait to present it to the parents and the whole school.
今週のジムレッスンもかけっことパラシュートの練習をしました。今週から音楽をつけて練習をしました。始めは少し難しかったバルーンの技も、次第に上手にできるようになりました。リズムに合わせてみんなでパフォーマンスすることは、SSさんにとって得意な事の一つなので、スポフェスで披露できるのが楽しみです。
We have been active this week despite the gloomy weather. That only proves that shooting star class is shining bright rain or shine!
雨がふってもSSさんはとてもアクティブ！クラス内でもパラシュートの練習をしました。これが最後ね！と言って練習した後、もう一回やる？と聞くとほとんどの子が「やる！」と言ってもう一度練習をしました。みんな練習を楽しんでいるようなのでとても喜ばしいです❤
