We completed our running unit in P.E. with a marathon competition at Skypark in Matsumoto on Friday, May 31st. Everyone ran one kilometer and then competed in the 100m dash. We did really well due to our commitment and principled behavior throughout the unit. We gained a lot of confidence from this experience!
On May 24th we had our unit one summative assessment. We put on a celebration for parents, teachers and students. Our schedule included saying welcome speeches, singing an original song, playing an original game and conducting interviews/surveys from the audience.
The purpose of putting on our own celebration was to make unit one’s central idea a reality at International School of Nagano. The central idea was “celebrations help strengthen human relationships.” We accomplished this by allowing the audience to participate in our celebration. While preparing for our celebration we were able to practice all of our IB learner profiles, skills and attitudes. Students only spent one week preparing but Ms. Ellen was very impressed with our courage and public speaking skills. Thank you to everyone who came! We appreciated your support!
