Hello everyone! We hope your week has been as exciting and as eventful as ours here at the ISN Winter Program.
We have been up to a lot of things. First of all, we used our time to help the school and its current and future residents. The students have taken it upon themselves to clean up the entire second floor of the Shimauchi campus of the Christmas show leftover props and old craft materials. After cleaning, they have helped with the new organization of the space, moving all the books to the new Library and all of the furniture and classroom materials to the new Grade 1 classroom. On Thursday, the students helped clean the upstairs toilets and threw a grand opening ceremony. That truly marked the start of the new ISN Elementary School! 😺
On Friday, the students went on a bus trip to a local bank. They learned about money, the importance of it, and the importance of the bank employee’s work. We’d like to use this opportunity to thank all the bank staff who helped make this an interesting excursion.
The students didn’t skip out on any fun either. On Monday and Wednesday, we made bus trips to Alps park to enjoy some much-needed exercise time (it even snowed during our Wednesday visit ❄️) and on Friday, we had fun playing soccer, dodgeball and catch at the Shimauchi gym. We played fun board games with our new friends who don’t usually come to ISN, created small origami masterpieces and watched interesting movies: Tarzan, which taught us the importance of family and love, and Mulan, a story about bravery and belief in oneself.

皆さん、こんにちは。
今週は、ISNのウィンタープログラムが始まりましたが、皆さんも私達のように楽しい出来事いっぱいの週になっていることと思います。今週も色々なことをしました。まず、今いる生徒たちとこれから入学してくる生徒たち、そしてスクールのためにお手伝いをしました。島内キャンパスの２階全体を掃除し、クリスマスショーで使った小道具やクラフト材料をきれいにしましいた。掃除の後は、新しい部屋の配置にするために、図書館の本を移動したり、机やクラス内にある道具を新しいGrade1の教室へ移動しました。木曜日は、２階にあるトイレをきれいにして、オープニングセレモニーを行いました。新しいISNエレメンタリースクールの始まりになります！
金曜日は、生徒たちは、バスで某銀行松本支店へ見学にいきました！お金について、お金の重要なこと、行員の方々の仕事など多くを学ぶ事ができました。 銀行員の方々、お忙しいところ、とても興味深い見学ツアーを企画してくださり、誠にありがとうございました。
月曜日と水曜日は、アルプス公園に行き身体を動かしました。水曜日には、ちらほらと雪も舞いました。金曜日は、サッカー、ドッジボールなどもしました。ウィンタープログラムに参加してくれたお友だちと色々なボードゲームで遊んだり、折り紙で小さな作品を作ったり、ターザンという家族と愛が大切だということを教えてくれる映画や、勇気と自分を信じることについてのストーリーのMulanという映画も見ました。
