This week we worked on our sense of sight – ‘We see with our eyes’. The children took turns wearing special glasses to see. It was good fun. For music class, the class enjoyed singing and moving to Bingo and Hokey Pokey.
今週は”見る”という五感の一つを‘We see with our eyes’のセンテンスと共に学びました。子供たちは、順番に、特別な眼鏡をして”みる”事に挑戦しました。とても楽しかったです。音楽の時間には、BINGOやHokey Pokeyを歌い踊り、楽しみました。
Our highlight this week was making Hina dolls craft. We used acrylic paint on coloured paper. Instead of painting with brushes, we used cotton buds for the children’s little hands. This is more developmentally appropriate and allows for more fine motor control. The children tried drawing faces for the dolls too. Then we used sticker seals for the sakura flower decorations.
今週の特別な事としては、お雛様の日に向けてクラフトをしたことです。着物部分になる色紙に、アクリル絵の具を使って柄を付けました。今回は筆を使う代わりに、綿棒を使用しました。子供たちの小さな手には大きさがちょうどよかったように思います。指の運動力を高めるためにもこの綿棒は適していて、子供たちも指でコントロールをしていました。また、お雛様のお顔もクレヨンで描いてみました。仕上げに桜のシールでデコレーションをしました。
One of the mornings, we made an obstacle course. The children crawled through, hopped and danced with maracas. The large triangle was made after one of the children suggested making something big. Children are so creative and we ought to listen more to their ideas. Thank you Meadow!
ある日の午前中、障害物コースを先生が準備し、楽しみました。子供たちはハイハイでトンネルをくぐり、ジャンプでフープを飛び、マラカスでダンスをしました。一人のお友達が”Big”というので、リクエストに応え大きな三角をトンネルに作りました。子供たちは想像力豊かで、先生たちもクリエイティブなアイディアに耳を傾けるべきですね。Thank you Meadow!
We walked to the park this week and the children did so well as a class. They were more aware of their surroundings, like uneven pavements and approaching vehicles. They responded quickly to the teachers’ instructions. Even if they stumbled, they picked themselves up immediately and walked on. How they have grown. We are so proud of them! At the park, we could see trains passing by and we tried to identify the different trains – Azusa Express, Shinano Line. One of the boys is an expert on trains and shared his knowledge with us. Thank you!
今週は、公園まで歩いていきました。クラス単位で歩くことがとても上手になりました。子供たちは真っすぐではないガタガタの舗道や車など、自分たちの周りの事にもっと目を向けられるようになりました。先生の指示にすぐに応じられるようにもなりました。万が一バランスを崩してもすぐに自分で立ち直りまた歩き始める姿も見られました。成長を感じます。
公園では行ったり来たりする電車を見て、スーパーあずさなのか、しなのなのかを言い当てていました。電車に詳しいお友達は知識の共有をしてくれました。
