Patterns and Cycles (Milky Way)

This was such a productive and fun week for the Milky Way class!

We have started this week with the Open Day and the students seemed to enjoy the company of their parents as they were all so engaged during the class discussion. We had some fun games and learning activities about Bossy R words in phonics and changes in UOI. It was such an awesome day! Thank you all dear parents for coming to our Open Day and we hope that you enjoyed as much as we do.

This week in Math, we continued our exploration of patterns. We discussed different kinds of repeating patterns and the Milky Way kids enjoyed winter-themed pattern activities. They even made their own repeating patterns! These math exercises will help them develop logical thinking skills, which they will be able to apply in other numeracy related tasks.

In UOI, we moved on to another topic that would help the kids better understand the concept of change. From the lesson about the yearly cycle of seasons, the class tackled the topic of the Life Cycle. First, we identified the common characteristics of living things. It was easy for the Milky Way kids to recognize which are living things. Then, we tackled the plant’s life cycle and the characteristics of some animal groups. We discussed three of the six animal groups and they are mammals, fish, and birds. The students are definitely enjoying the lesson about the animal kingdom. It was so fascinating for them!

See you again next week for another Milky Way update! That’s it for now. Thank you!
