Practice makes progress! MW 9/2-9/6

“Do it again. Play it again. Sing it again. Read it again. Write it again. Sketch it again. Rehearse it again. Run it again. Try it again. Because “again” is practice, and practice is improvement.” by Richelle E. Goodrich

The Milky Way class has been working really hard practicing for the Sports Festival. They finally chose the roles they wanted to do for the upcoming event. There will be helpers or leaders to be done by Milky Way students such Sports Festival Oath leaders, dance exercise leaders, goal tape helpers, cheerleaders, and ball counting helpers. This week, we started to practice how to do their roles and it was a little bit difficult for them because it was their first time to do it. But they didn’t give up and just kept practicing. I know the first time is always hard but if you keep on practicing, it will be easy for you in the end.

We had our Sports Festival rehearsal on Wednesday and everybody was very happy to spend the time with their Aurora and Shooting Star friends. They enjoyed playing throwing balls together and cheering their friends while running in the race.

Milky Way students began to make the second craft for the Sports Festival. This time they made a sculpture of a tiger using paper clay. They started to shape the bone structure of a tiger using a craft wire with the help of the teacher. They kneaded the clay to make it soft and started to mold a tiger shape around the wire. We are just waiting for it to dry and hopefully we can paint it with a color tiger next week.

Water play is over, but they are very happy to play again in the schoolyard. They learned a new game, a Filipino game, called “maupo-upo”. Maupo or upo means to sit down. This is a type of tag game, the only difference is that you have to sit down before the “it” touches you if you don’t want to be the “it”. Everyone enjoys playing it, especially the boys who never get tired of running around.

That’s all for this week! Thank you for reading our blog and have a great weekend!🥰
