Here’s another week of fun-filled learning activities in Rainbow.
Setsubun is fast approaching. We made a mask for our craft which we will be wearing on the Setsubun day as we throw beans to the demons and say, “Demons out, good luck in” We are ready to drive the demons out!
節分の鬼のマスクを作りました。みんなの中には、すぐに泣く ”なき虫鬼” やすぐに怒る”怒りんぼ鬼”, お友達とオモチャをシェア出来ない ”いじわる鬼” 、何でも挑戦しないでお母さんやお父さんにやってもらう ”なまけ者鬼”、すぐに風邪をひく “病気鬼”,はいないか、いたら恐いお面を作って追い出そう！っと言う話をしました。みんな真剣に聞いてくれていて、鬼が来た時の追い払い方法の“鬼は外！福は内！”の「”Demons out! Good luck in!!」をとても上手に練習できました。怖がってしまった子もいますが、これで鬼を退治できる準備が整ってきました！
An important milestone for our little ones begins to emerge. We did a tracing the lines activity. We need the pre writing skills to enable us to learn to write. These skills include sensor motor skills which enable our youngsters to hold and use a pencil which gives them the ability to copy, trace, draw and colour. Well done Rainbow. We gave them a sticker as a reward of their good work.
なぞり書きの活動をしました。年明けから自由遊びにも同じ絵同士を線で結ぶ遊びも提供していましたが、なぞり書きは初めてです！この活動は、指先の運動にもとても効果的で、鉛筆が上手に使えるようになると、真似をして書いたり、今回のなぞり書きやお絵描き塗り絵も出来るようになります。ペンの持ち方は、フォークやスプーンと同じなのでスムーズにいきましたが、お絵描きなどをあまりしない子はなかなか指先への力が上手く入りません。それでも、「みんなは線路を走る電車だよ。」と伝えると、まっすぐな線やジグザグな線、波線の上をはみ出さないようにゆっくり丁寧になぞる事が出来ていました。ご褒美シールをシートに貼って、出来た事を嬉しそうに友達や担任にも見せていました。
We had a birthday party too! Everyone enjoyed singing a Birthday song to the celebrants. Thumbs up to Ms. Courtney for reading us a great story.
今月の誕生会は、Ms.Courtneyに”Where the Wild Things are(かいじゅうたちいるところ)” の本を読んでもらいました。日本語バージョンも昔からとても人気の高い絵本の一つ。Ms.Courtneyが動きを付けながら読んでくれたのでとてもわかりやすく、最後まで真剣に見聞きする事が出来ました。
