Life at school continues! 😃 After a long holiday, we’re all back to school learning together while having fun!
お盆休みが明けて、ISNでの楽しい生活がまた始まりました！
In UOI, the Shooting Star class is still inquiring about different helps we get from each building. To extend the discussion further, we talked about who works in each building, and how they help the community. They will dig in more about this subject when they are in Milky Way class next year. After the discussion, the whole class enjoyed coloring and making their own community helper’s hat.
UOIでは引き続きLOI２のさまざまな建物の役割を学んでいます。
どの建物でどんな人が働いているかを学びます。去年の「Dream Job」でみんなにおなじみの看護師や医者などを建物に割り当て、自分が好きな仕事の帽子をつくりました！来年は職業についてもっと深く探究する予定です。
Also this week, We reviewed the whole Line of Inquiry 2 by doing a cut and paste activity: The students were given a bunch of situational pictures and were tasked to paste them in the box where they belong. Each box represents the 6 different types of buildings we studied: Selling, Making, Showing, Serving, living and Helping.
今週はカット＆ペーストアクティビティで LOI２の復習をしました。これはフォーマティブアセスメントで、LOI2の内容をどれだけ理解しているのかを見るためのアセスメントになります。SSさんはLOI2で、６つのカテゴリーからなる建物の種類とその役割を学んできました。「売る、作る、見せる、提供する、住む、支援する」の６つのカテゴリーになります。みんなには色々な場面、状況が描かれた写真を切ってもらい、建物の６つのカテゴリーのどれに当てはまるか、絵の写真をのりで貼っていきます。みんなとても良くできていました！はさみの持ち方もとても上手になっています✂
Our Phonics and Writing were a lot of fun: After writing words that have an initial short vowel sound, We are down to practicing writing words that have long vowel sounds. For this week we wrote the long A and E sound.
フォニックスとライティングも楽しく学びました！お盆休みの前に、短い発音の母音が単語の始めにある単語を学びました。今週は長い発音を持った母音（AとE）が単語の始めにくる単語を学び、ノートに４つの単語「acon」「ape 」「eagle」と「eel」を練習しました。
It’s the first time for the Shooting Star class to experience hunting, not animals though but words. They hunted the words that are listed on their list from the words posted on the whiteboard. Doing this activity helped them hone their reading skills and be more familiar with different snap words.
今回のフォニックスでは、SSさんにとって初めてのハンティングでした！ハンティングと言っても動物ではなく、単語（スナップワード）のハンティングです(笑) ホワイトボードに貼られた沢山のスナップワードから自分のチェックリストに書いてあるスナップワードを探しチェックしていくゲームです。声にだして読みながら照らし合わせている子どももいて、とても感心しました👏色々な単語を学ぶにあたって、声にだして単語を読みながら覚えることはとても大切です。お家でも英単語を見つけたら、お子様と一緒に読んでみてください♪
年中さんになったSSクラスのフォニックスレッスンは、ワードサイエンティストになったり、ハンターになったり、メイブルとお友達になったりで、大忙しです！これからのレッスンもとても楽しみですね😉
そして今週から先生と1対1でリーディングの練習を始めました！リーディングが大好きなSSさん、とても成長しています。お家で本を読んで練習しているのがわかる場面も見られ保護者の皆さまには感謝しております！
9月からは毎週2，3冊の本を持ち帰ります。その本を保護者の皆さまとお子様と一緒に読んでいただき、サインをしてもらいます。リーディングのテストは2カ月に1回程度で行います。お家のご協力が必要になります、どうぞよろしくお願い致します。
We are still preparing for our sports festival performance. Everyone is giving their best to master the routines and steps of our number. We are all excited about this event.
コロナウイルス警戒レベルが５になってしまったため、スポーツフェスティバルの開催は子ども達だけとなってしまいとても残念ですが、パフォーマンスの練習は一生懸命頑張っています！パラバルーンがとても大好きなSSさんは、動きも完璧に覚えており、保護者の皆さまにビデオで見てもらえるのが楽しみです！
Before we end this blog, we also want to share our experience recording the temperature of the day; We used an actual thermometer and recorded the data using a bar graph and a line graph combined on construction paper. We will do this until the end of the year, so we will see how temperature changes throughout the year.
今週から気温を記録することにしました。バーと線のグラフと、温度計の説明をし、これから毎朝みんなで気温をチェックしてグラフを完成させます！これから季節がかわり、どんな気温の変化がみられるか楽しみです。
ランチ後のフリープレイではみんな大好きな粘土でも遊びました！ランチが早く終わった時は粘土か折り紙で遊ぶ約束がSSクラスにあります😉
