Welcome to Shooting Star’s another week of fun learning experience.
This week, we engaged into many variety of educational activities.
We had our phonics lesson where we learned the -et word family like pet, jet, wet, vet, net, etc. We sang the short letter e CVC and the phonics song to review the sounds of the letters. After understanding the concept of CVC words, we read them by saying each sound and blended them together to say the word. Then, we completed the task by answering the worksheet individually.

For our UOI, we talked about the butterfly and beetle life cycle. For butterfly, first, students were tasked to put the pictures in order to show the stages of butterfly life cycle. Once finished, we read a the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Students enjoyed listening to the story from beginning to end. Then, we checked our answers as we talked through the life cycle from the story and we concluded that the life cycle of a butterfly starts from egg to caterpillar and then to chrysalis and finally to an adult butterfly. Following that, we made a moving caterpillar craft which made everyone looked amused by the result. We also tackled the beetle life cycle. We did the same prior knowledge activity by giving them time to work in groups putting the pictures of beetle life cycle in order. Students were encouraged to be communicators by not only sharing their ideas but, listen to the ideas of others in the group as well. We concluded that the beetle life cycle starts from egg to larva and then to pupa and finally to an adult beetle.
UOIでは先週に引き続き、虫のライフサイクルについて探究🔍✨今回は、バタフライとカブト虫の一生について学びました✨すぐに答えを教えるのではなく、まずは生徒たちにどう虫たちは成長していくのか考えてもらい、その後絵本やビデオを見て答え合わせをしていきました😊バタフライのライフサイクルを学んだあとは、みんなで動く毛虫さん作り💖とっても気に入ったみたいで、動かしながら喜んでいました🐛
We harvested again another red tomatoes and green peppers from our garden and we ate them at lunch time. Students said, I love tomatoes. Can I have more tomatoes, please? Awesome!
畑でとれた夏野菜🍅普段野菜が苦手な子も「Yummy😊」と言ってモリモリ食べています💖休み明けはピザ作りを予定しているので、お楽しみに💖
We practiced the race and the shooting ball for Sports Festival. Everyone tried their best to shoot as many balls as they could and cleaned up many balls as quickly as they could afterwards and ran back and sat quickly against the wall. For the race, once our name was called, we raised our hands and said, I’m here and stood up at the starting line, waited quietly to the signal, On your mark, get set, go! Then, we ran as fast as we could while our friends were cheering us by clapping their hands and saying, Go, go, go, everyone!
スポーツフェスティバルに向けて楽しみながら練習も重ねています。去年やったことをしっかり覚えていて、かけっこのスタートや玉入れのやり方（順番）もバッチリです✨
Finally, to keep active, stay well, and be happy we spent time in the schoolyard playing in the pool and in the sandpit. Our freely chosen play gives us the chance to explore the natural environment and have adventures.
