How do bees relate to our lives?-Shooting Star-September 2nd-6th

Greetings,

Welcome to our first blog for the month of September.

This week, we began our exchange play with other classes which is happening every Monday. Shooting Star class visited other classes especially younger students and played with them. We also welcomed other classes who came to our class to play with us. This is a great chance for everyone to get acquainted well with teachers and friends over Minami campus and to develop our social skills.

今週から週に1回、朝の自由時間に縦割り保育が始まりました😊💖ナーサリー~ミルキーウェイクラスまで、行ってみたいクラスに行って一緒に関わって遊びます。小さいお友達がくると、「はいどうぞ」と玩具を貸してあげる姿があったり、とっても素敵な時間を過ごしていました。

As our school yard pool had officially ended and the summer eases into autumn, we resumed going to the park again. We walked to the park with the rules in mind and as soon as we reached to the park, we drank tea and started the uninterrupted play. We had so much fun!

夏のプール遊びが終わり、公園遊びがまた戻ってきました!前回よりも体力がついた子どもたちは、あっという間に公園までたどり着き、残暑が残る中、思いっきり遊んできました✨

For our UOI, we inquired into BEE LIFE CYCLE. After a short recap of our previous inquiry topic, students were given the BEE LIFE CYCLE sheet with pictures and were encouraged to work in a group to discuss and figure out by themselves its life process. Discussion among the group came about as they worked out the answer. And after the group task, we got ahead watching the BEE LIFE CYCLE video followed by a class discussion to check students’ answer. Students actively engaged into the discussion sharing their ideas and answering the questions. In addition, we delved into the usefulness of bees in our lives. We have come up to our class discussion that bees don’t just give us honey, but they also help us grow more flowers and make more seeds through pollination. After the short discussion, we did a role play activity wherein students act out as bees and flowers to better understand the process of pollination.

UOIではLOI2「昆虫と私たちの生活の関係」をもとに、今週は「ハチ🐝」について探求しました。ハチはどのように大きくなるのか?またミツバチとスズメバチの違いは何なのか?グループごと考えました💡また、「ハチの受粉」についても学び、はちはハチミツ🍯だけでなく、受粉という役割もあることを知りました🌸探究の最後には、子ども達全員がミツバチに扮して、体を動かしながら楽しく受粉について触れました😊

For phonics lesson, we learned the -it word family-hit, fit, lit, kit, etc. First, we sang the Phonics song followed by letters and sounds review. Then, we read the the -it word family one by one by blending the sounds of the three letters together with pictures. Finally, we carried out the merry go round activity by laying the CVC words upside down on the table, played the music and let students go around and when the music stopped, students picked up the CVC words in front of them and read aloud.

フォニックスでは、-itのワードファミリーについて学びました✨椅子取りゲームの要領で、止まったところのカードをとり、そこに書かれている言葉を読むアクティビティーでは、みんな楽しみながら、新しい言葉を読むことに挑戦していました💡

We went to the gym to practice for the upcoming Sports Festival event. We practiced with Aurora and Milky Way classes. Our practiced went smoothly. We tried to be communicators and balanced from beginning to the end of the rehearsal. We can’t wait to show our performance to our ever supportive parents.

スポーツフェスティバルまであと数週間!今週はオーロラ、ミルキーウェイと一緒に練習をしました🚩他のクラスの応援もしっかりできていた子ども達😊パラシュートは今までの中で一番の出来でした✨💖「私は玉入れが好き」「僕はパラシュート」とみんな心待ちにしています!
