✔Clean and Dirty Assessment Done!
Everyone got a perfect answer in our assessment this week. Keep it up, Canyon! They sorted out pictures that show clean and dirty. As they get each picture, they can easily identify whether it is clean or dirty. They were able to say phrases like “It’s clean. or It’s dirty.”
「きれい」と「汚い」に関するアセスメントが終了しました！色々な場所の写真を見て、きれいか汚いかを判断するというアセスメントをしました。キャニオンさん全員が正しく写真を仕分けすることが出来ました。また、先生の質問に対して、”It’s clean. or It’s dirty.（それはきれい/汚い）と文章で答えることが出来ました。Good job!!
To develop their communication skills particularly speaking and listening skills, we did “Show and Tell”. Each Canyon student showed their picture helping and cleaning at home and told their friends what they were doing. At the end, they were able to say “I can clean up by myself.” Canyon students were very attentive and were able to share their ideas during our discussion. They knew that their mommies and daddies will be happy and proud of them every time they help their parents at home.
みんなのコミュニケーション能力、特にお話をする力、聞く力を高めるために、友達の前で発表をしてもらいました。お家から持ってきたお手伝いの写真やお片付けをしている写真を友達に見せながら、どんなお手伝いをしたのかを話しました。発表の最後は「I can clean up by myself.（自分で片付けが出来ます。）」と言う事が出来ました。お友達の発表をよく聞いて、話し合いの間はみんなで意見を出し合いました。みんながお家でお手伝いをすることで、お母さんやお父さんがうれしくなり、みんなのことを誇らしく思ってくれるという事を知りました。
In math, Canyon students show improvement in rote counting from numbers 1 to 50. They really enjoy singing our number song and we are also practicing counting numbers altogether without the music to test if they can really pronounce those numbers clearly and correctly. They also enjoyed our number guessing game! Through this game, they were able to identify random numbers correctly.
In phonics, our focus was letter Pp as in penguin, pig, peanut, pear, panda, pumpkin, and pickle which were mentioned in our Pp Song. They were able to color and write the letter Pp worksheet.
Our Music lesson went very well this Thursday. Canyon students were able to use drum sticks almost perfectly! They also had fun in our new activity using small hulahoop rings. They need to jump twice/thrice and they need to get inside the ring. I’m sure they will be able to do it perfectly soon!
算数のレッスンでは、１－５０までの数字を数えるのがとても上手になりました！歌に合わせて数えるのが好きなキャニオンさん達ですが、みんなが数字をはっきりと正しく発音出来てるかを確認するために、歌なしで数えることにも挑戦しています。Ms. Fronieが持っている数字を当てる、数字当てゲームも楽しんでいます。順不同に登場する数字を認識出来るようになってきました。
フォニックスの学習では、今週はPの文字の音とPで始まる言葉、penguin（ペンギン）、 pig（ブタ）、peanut（ピーナッツ）、pear（梨）、panda（パンダ）、 pumpkin（かぼちゃ）、pickle（ピクルス）を学びました。これらの言葉が登場する歌もジェスチャーを加えながら大きな声で歌いました。
リトミッククラスでは先月に引き続き、たいこのバチを使ったアクテビティをしました。先生が前で見せるリズムと同じようにリズムをとりまたが、ほぼ全員の友達が上手に真似することが出来ていました！今週から新しい活動も始まりました。小さいフラフープを使って、音楽に合わせてフープの中にジャンプします。リズムによって、2回もしくは3回ジャンプしてからフープの中にジャンプします。 リズムに合わせてジャンプする少し難しい活動ですが、覚えるのが早いキャニオンさん！すぐに上達することと思います。
暑い日が続きますが、屋外プールに毎日のように入れるようになりキャニオンさん達は大喜び！外のプールで思いきり遊び、ぐっすりとお昼寝が出来ています。お家の方には、毎日のお洗濯や検温にご協力いただきありがとうございます。プールに入る前にトイレを済ませ、着替えをして準備するのがとてもスムーズに出来るようになってきました。今月からはプールに向かう時と、プールバックにしまう時に、タオルをきれいにたたむことを目標にしました。タオルの角と角を合わせてたたむ練習をしています。
