Dinosaurs, earthquakes and volanoes oh my!

This week Savannah and Shooting Star came to visit us for one hour to see how we do things at Shimauchi. Rainforest students enjoyed reading with them, showing them our phonics lesson and playing.

For our inquiry unit we watched some videos about how the Earth was created because Yuu wanted to know. We saw how water (one of our precious resources) formed on Earth and that over 90% of water on our planet is salty. We watched videos about how tsunamis and earthquakes occur and how volcanoes erupt. We also watched videos about how dinosaurs lived and died and fossils were made which we now use as petroleum gas!

Sadly we couldn’t go to the park yesterday so after we watched the science videos we watched some of My Neighbour Totoro in English.
