Building on ideas

Using lots of creativity and enthusiasm, students in ISN Elementary Class have built some incredible means of transport from flying cars built for leisure to submersible vehicles built for necessity.
The transdisciplinary theme we have been investigating is “How we organise ourselves” and the central idea is “Means of transport have developed over time for necessity and for leisure.”
In addition to making models of these transport vehicles Elementary students have been writing articles highlighting their importance in fulfilling people’s transport and leisure needs.
Using a real car magazine, students discussed why people would want to read it. Students will use these ideas to design and publish their own transport magazine. Their written articles will form an important part of the magazine. Initially handwritten drafts will be completed and then students will use Google Docs to publish their work for the magazine. Photos of their models will also be imported to support their information.
Elementary Class students have also been busy practicing for their sports festival which will be next Friday, October 6. Ball games, dance, races, and family games will all be a part of a great morning of physical activity and fun. We look forward to seeing all our wonderful ISN families and friends and displaying our skills as well as participating in some events with them.
