Our visitors from overseas

We walked to the mountain, we talked about our schools, we cooked manju, we ate lunch together, and we traveled by bus to a recycling factory, and we shared lots of ideas. It was certainly a busy day but enormously fun and full of learning. Our guests were 25 students and 4 teachers from the Singapore School of Science and Technology.
We shared information about the Nagano Prefecture: our beautiful clean air, our crystal clear water, our unique places to visit; and they shared information about their school including one of their latest projects – how Singapore makes their water. We were glad that our country has lots of clean water and we never have to make any.
Before lunch we walked up to one of our favorite places on the mountain where the view is spectacular. Then we had lunch and cooked some manju. After that we traveled on their big bus to the recycling center. Finally we had afternoon tea together and shared lots of gifts. We were sad to see them go but we have lots of memories of our excellent day together.
This week we also had the pleasure of meeting our newest ISN teacher, Mr Justin from Canada. Students enjoyed talking to him about his home in Canada and about his last job teaching in China. Once again our world map became a most helpful reference.
On Monday this week we had the pleasure of having our tennis coaches visit our school. Students in Elementary Class were glad to show them their classroom and to ask them questions about their professions.
