Grades 4, 5 and 6: Staying healthy

Hi, everyone! Thank you for your wonderful support and attendance during this week’s open swimming lesson. The students had a lovely time and enjoyed having their parents and grandparents around to see their progress. This was the last swimming lesson for this school year, but let’s look forward to having more in the next year. 🌊

Grade 4, 5 and 6 students continued their inquiry into the topic of Space, doing individual research on the topic of different planets and satellites inside the Solar system and discussing the reasoning behind space research and the importance of space travel. The students shared some interesting ideas and posed well-thought of questions for space researchers. 🪐

In our Science lesson, we thought about separating mixtures through the use of centrifugal force, in Art we looked at works of Keith Haring, in Math we solved simple equations and in Health we learned about the importance of staying unique and saying the truth. 💚

The whole community had a bit of a scare this week due to news on the spread of the Covid19 Coronavirus. Due to this, the school has decided to cancel all public activities in the following two weeks, which includes next week’s planned open day and gym lessons. There is a silver lining to every cloud though, so the students used this opportunity to remind each other of different ways we can stay safe from viruses, such as wearing face masks, gargling and washing their hands often, using alcohol for sanitation and airing out our classrooms. Stay safe and have a pleasant weekend! 🌞
