ISN technophiles May-June 2017

This past month we have introduced a new structure to the project, one which the students took control in organizing. Students decided to have the following schedule: Monday=music, Tuesday=reading/grammar, Wednesday=chess, Thursday=math, Friday=Art.
Along with this new setup we have initiated our typing/coding computer program. In these beginning months of our program we have been practicing our home row and bottom row typing skills without looking at the keyboard. At first they had trouble averting their eyes, but once encouraged and told that it is ok to make mistakes, students have been SOARING through expectations. They have really displayed their Risk taker learner profile and have really become comfortable at only looking at the screen while typing. Through the week students have sung, worked with different parts of speech such as synonyms and antonyms, played games, worked with doubles mental math, and meddled in artistic transitional tessellations, all benefiting their Balanced Learner Profile.
We will continue to have fun while learning and exercising in the project! Stay tuned for further news 🙂
