In the Grade 4 classroom this week, we have started worked in earnest on our Performance Day show. The show is based on the original Mary Poppins movie from the mid-1960’s. However, we have changed it slightly by setting it in the near future, 2031 to be precise.
皆さんこんにちは。G4クラスでは今週、パフォーマンスデーへ向けた本格的な練習を始めました。今年のショーは、1960年代半ばの映画 メリー・ポピンズ をベースにしています。しかし少し設定を変えて、近未来、正確に言うと2031年を舞台としています。
We have been slowly editing the script to try and make the story shorter and, hopefully, easier to follow.
少しずつ台本を短く、そしてよりわかりやすくなるように台本を編集しています。
Also this week, students have been considering and designing their character’s costume. How will people dress in the year 2031?
また今週は、それぞれの役の衣装について考え、デザインしてきました。2031年ではいったいどんな服装をしているのでしょうか？
We have also started designing the stage sets. Again, how will streets and living rooms look 10 years from now? Will they be much changed?
そしてステージのセットのデザインも考え始めました。10年後の道路やリビングルームはどのようになっているのでしょうか？今とはすっかり変わっているのでしょうか？
We look forward to sharing our findings with you on Friday 17th December at Matsumoto Performance Centre.

Also, this Friday we will be enjoying our Bus Trip to Azumino Park. Please remember that this is not a normal school day, so bento lunches will be required.
