Greetings!
Welcome to Aurora’s blog! Here’s how we spent the week in Aurora class! As we all know, this year each student has provided their own art / craft materials such as clay, drawing pad, crayons, and scissors. It is important that kids know what they are and how to use them properly. That’s why we started to explain each of them and have them try using it for the first time.
こんにちは！オーロラクラスのブログへようこそ！ クラスでどんな1週間を過ごしたのかをご紹介します。ご存知のとおり、今年スクールでは、全員に粘土、おえかき帳、クレヨン、ハサミなどの道具を用意しました。子ども達は、それらが何であるかと、適切な使い方を知る必要があります。 そのため、それぞれについて説明し、初めて使ってみました。
Last week, we learned the name of clay, clay case, and clay board. The clay was a little hard, so we tried to make it softer by squeezing and kneading it using our hands. Our boys and girls couldn’t wait to play with it and started to use their imagination in creating things. They made trains, doughnuts, tunnels, balls, and snakes. Look how creative they are!🤩
先週は、粘土と粘土ケース、粘土板の名前を学びました。 粘土が少し硬かったので、手で絞ったり、こねて柔らかくすることに挑戦しました。 子ども達は粘土で遊ぶのが待ちきれず、想像力を発揮して粘土作品を作り始めました。 電車、ドーナツ、トンネル、ボール、そしてヘビなど・・・。 彼らがどんなに創造的であるか見て下さい！
We also used clay in our writing activity. Each of them were given the letter card and used the clay in tracing the letter Aa. And they have their own style in making it! Some made thick shapes and others made thin ones. Kids’ creativity is really impressive!👏
ライティング（ 筆記）の活動にも粘土を使用しました。 アルファベット（A.a) の書かれたラミネートカードの文字を粘土でたどるものです。 みんな独自のスタイルでを持っており、ぶ厚い形ものや、薄い形のものを作った子もいます。 子ども達の創造力は本当に印象的でした！
We also introduced to them how to use scissors ✂️ safely. It was clear to them that we only use scissors in cutting papers, not someone’s hair, clothes, nor fingers. We also remember to: • Sit down to do your cutting. • Hold the blade down when walking with scissors. また、ハサミを安全に使う方法も紹介しました。私達がハサミを使うのは紙を切る時だけで、誰かの髪の毛や衣服、指を切ったりしないことを一緒に確認しました。•座って使う •刃先を下げる •運ぶ時は歩く＝歩きながら切らない、走らない。 •友達に渡す時はハンドル側を友達に渡す。などです。 Clay helps children develop the small muscles in their fingers and hands, known as fine motor skills, as they pinch and squeeze the clay. Children can explore their own dexterity, strengthening their motor skills, while also enjoying the activity. 粘土は、つまんだり、ちぎったりする動作で、手指などの筋肉を発達させます。微細運動技能として知られています。 子ども達は、活動を楽しみながら、器用さを探求し、運動能力を強化することができます。 In UOI, we continued to review how to unpack their backpack in the morning by asking them to put the thing I would show them, from our backpack with cute hand-made things inside, in the right basket or place. Everyone did a great job in this activity and we could see how they improved in doing it by themselves everyday in the morning. Great job!👏 UOIでは、バックパックを開梱する方法を引き続き練習しています。かわいい手作りバックから、先生が取り出すものを正しいバスケットやロッカーに入れるように頼むと、 みんなが上手にやってくれました。毎朝の積み重ねで、子ども達がいかに上手にできるようになっているかがわかりました。良くできました！ Before, most of them were confused about what to put in their lunch bag so we had a “What’s in my lunch bag?” activity. Aurora guessed the object I was showing them little by little from the lunch bag which they really enjoyed, and identified if that object had to be in it. In the end, we counted three objects that we put in the lunch bag, such as an apron, chopsticks, and toothbrush. 以前は、ランチバックに何を入れるか迷っていたので、「ランチバックに入っているものは何かな？」という活動を行いました。私がランチバックに入っているものをひとつずつ取り出して見せ、子ども達はそれらのものがランチバックの中にあるべきなのかどうかを楽しみながら考えました。最後に、ランチバックには、エプロン、箸、歯ブラシの３つを入れることを教えました。 Principled: We do the right thing! This is one of the Learner Profiles we are covering in Unit 1. This week, we learned what principled means and how to be principled. Demonstration is one effective way for students to learn the meaning of an unfamiliar word and they learn more when they see it in their eyes. Running in the classroom, playing in line, pushing someone, drinking while walking/standing, not sitting nicely, and not listening to the teachers are some of the situations that we noticed few of them are doing and we wanted to correct them by using the learner profile principled. Students demonstrated those situations in front of everyone and asked them what’s the right thing to do or what’s the proper way of doing those things. If they are able to do it in a proper way, they are being principled.👍 信念を持つ人：私たちは正しいことをします！ これは、私達がユニット1で取り上げ、目指す学習者像の1つです。今週は、”Principaled”の意味と方法を学びました。 デモンストレーション(実演）は、生徒がなじみのない単語の意味を学ぶための効果的な方法の1つであり、目で見て学ぶことができます。 教室内で走ったり、並ぶ際に遊んだり、誰かを押したり、歩いたり立ったりしながら飲み物を飲んだり、座って先生の話を聞けない子がいるので、子供達自身に皆の前でそういった状況を実演してもらい、それが正しいことなのか、あるいは正しい方法はどうすることなのかを尋ねました。 子ども達が正しい方法で、それを行うことができれば、彼らは”Principaled（信念を持つ人）”に近づいています。 Aside from the gym physical activities, we also had fun outdoor activities! We played Color Tag wherein someone pretends to be a monster and calls out a color to be found and touched around the schoolyard. If you don’t find the color told by the monster, the monster will catch you and you will become the next monster and do the same. Everybody ran fast and tried to find the right color which they saw in the toys, clothes, trees, and everywhere. 🖍 体育のほか、野外活動も楽しみました！ 園庭では「色おに」の遊びをしました。鬼が指定する色を見つけられないと、鬼はその子を捕まえます。そして捕まった子が次の鬼になります。みんなで走り周り、砂場のおもちゃ、園庭の木々、衣服などを見て、鬼の指定する色を探しました。 Can you help me? That’s one of the songs we’ve been singing everyday to improve students’ English speaking skill. Whenever they need help from the teacher, we encourage them to say “Can you help me, please?” and “Thank you!”. We also had a role-play of the video of the song wherein one student asked, “Can you help me?” and the other responded, “Sure, I can help you!”. Everyone excitedly volunteered to do it and they were very happy when they had their turn to show it in front! You may click the link below and hear your children sing their favorite song!🎵 「Can you help me？（手伝って頂けますか？）」は、生徒の英語をスピーキングスキルを向上させるために毎日歌っている曲の1つです。先生の助けが必要な時はいつでも「Can you help me？（手伝って頂けますか？）」と「Thank you （ありがとう）」と言うように促しています。 また、この曲のビデオを視聴し、一方が”Can you help me?” と聞いたら、もう一方が”Sure, I can help you（勿論、お手伝いします）” と答えるロールプレイを行いました。 みんな興奮してやりたがり、当てられた子は喜んでやってくれました。下記のリンクをクリックして頂くと、子ども達お気に入りの曲を歌うのを聞くことができます！ We don’t want to starve our dear friend in Aurora class, which is the bear. We played Feed the Bear in our Phonics lesson. This time, we only fed the bear with the fish, but the fish with the letter Aa written on it only. 🐻🐟 オーロラクラスのお友達の熊さんを飢えさせたくありません。 フォニックスのレッスンでは「熊さんの餌付け遊び」をしました。 今回は熊さんに、Aaの文字が書かれた魚だけを食べさせました。 It’s almost the end of the month of April and one of our little girls celebrated her 4th birthday in our class. We put a crown on her, sang the birthday song, greeted her, gave her a birthday card, and watched some videos about birthday. Happy, happy birthday my dear!🎉 間もなく4月も終わりますが、クラスでは女の子1人の4歳の誕生日をお祝いしました。 お姫様の冠をかぶせ、誕生日の歌を歌い、バースデーカードを贈り、誕生日に関するいくつかのビデオを見ました。 お誕生日おめでとう！ Lastly, we had a monthly emergency drill in our class. It was a good opportunity to teach the students about emergency hats which are new to them. They should know where to find it, how to wear it, and its purpose. During an emergency, they have to wear it before lining up for evacuating outside because it would protect their head from falling objects in case of an emergency. クラスで避難訓練を行いました。 初めての「防災ずきん」にについて子ども達に教える良い機会でした。 それがどこに置いてあり、どう着用するのか、そして何の為なのかを知っているべきです。 緊急時には、落下物から頭を保護するため、並んで外に避難する前に着用します。 Thank you for reading our blog!
