Hello everyone!
We are very close to finishing learning the alphabet. This week, Aurora learned about the uppercase and lowercase letter Xx. Most of the words that begin with this letter have different sounds like xylophone and x-ray. There are words that have the /x/ sound at the end of the word such as box, fox, mix, six. Also, we played another group game which is called Letter Xx Post-it Race. I wrote letters on post-it notes and stuck them on the wall. Their goal was to separate the uppercase and lowercase letter Xx by moving them to the designated paper. The twist was from the starting line they had to get in the hoop and get it out of their head before going to the post-it wall. And they did a great job in this game!👏

アルファベットの学習が終わりに近づいています。 今週、オーロラは大文字と小文字の X・x について学びました。 この文字で始まる単語のほとんどは、Xylophone（木琴）や x-ray（Ｘ線）のように異なる音を持っています。 box（箱）、fox（キツネ）、mix（まぜる）、six（６） などのように単語の最後に /x/ の音を含む言葉があります。 また、「Letter X・x Post-it Race（Ｘ.ｘ貼りゲーム）」 というグループ レースゲームをしました。 ポストイットにアルファベットを書いて壁に貼りました。 大文字と小文字の X・x を探し出し、指定の用紙に分別するゲームです。 ポイントは壁に向かって走る前に、フープを足から頭まで通してからスタートする点でした。そして、子ども達はこのゲームで素晴らしい成果を見せてくれました!
In UOI, we continued the presentation of the transportation they have at home. This time one student went to a station and took a picture of the train they rode on. We wondered if the trains have wheels and how many they have. Good thing we have a train toy in the class and check it out to answer our questions. And we found out that each train car has 8 wheels! What a nice discovery!🤩
Aurora class made an origami airplane. The teacher showed and taught them step by step how to fold the paper to make an airplane. It was very cold and snowy outside, and a little dangerous to play on a slippery ground, so they just enjoyed playing with their airplane in the classroom. Everybody had so much! ✈
UOI では、引き続き自分の乗り物を紹介する活動を行いました。 今回は、駅に行き自分の乗った電車の写真を撮ってきてくれた子もいました。 列車には車輪が付いているのか、何個あるのだろうか・・・？ 幸いなことに、クラスには（リアルな）電車のおもちゃがあり、それを確認して質問に答えました。 そして電車の各車両には 8 つの車輪があることがわかりました。 素敵な発見です！
クラスでは、折り紙で飛行機を作りました。 先生がどんな風に紙を折ったらよいか一つ一つ示して教えてくれました。 外はとても寒く雪が降っていて、地面は滑りやすく外で遊ぶのは少し危険だったので、教室内で飛行機を飛ばして遊びました。 みんなたくさん飛ばしました。
This week, our boys and girls are enjoying riding on the three new cardboard transportations in our class such as car, fire truck, and train. Now we have four including the airplane. They pretend to be the pilot or driver and others as the passengers. “Let’s go to Matsumoto station!”, they said.🚉
今週、私たちのクラスの子ども達は、車、消防車、電車とクラスに新しく登場した３つのダンボール製の乗り物に乗って楽しんでいます。 これで、飛行機を含めて 4 つになりました。 彼らはパイロットまたは運転手のふりをして、他の人は乗客になって 「松本駅に行こう！」と言っていました。
Aurora had so much fun playing at the park after the snowy weather the other day. They tried to make a little snowman, did snowball fight, and made ice cream. One of their friends took an ice from the park and brought it to school. Then, in the afternoon it turned to water because it melted. We asked students what happened to the ice and what it became. Some said it was coffee or any liquid they knew, and others said the right answer which is water. Before we went home, we put it outside to see what would happen the next morning . We were expecting it to become ice again, but unfortunately it’s still water. So we put it back again. Maybe after the weekend, it will turn into ice again, when we come back on Monday. We’ll see!🤗
先日の雪の後、公園でとても楽しそうに遊んでいました。 小さな雪だるまを作ったり、雪合戦をしたり、アイスクリームを作ったりしました。 おともだちの一人が公園から氷を拾って学校に持ってきました。 そして、それは午後には溶けて水になっていました。氷に何が起こったのか、そしてそれがどうなったのか質問してみました。 （土が混ざっていて茶色だったので）コーヒーや、何か見た事のある液体だと言う子もいれば、正解の水！と言う子もいました。 家に帰る前に、翌朝どうなるかを確認するために外に出しておきました。また氷になると思っていたのですが、残念ながらまだ水でした。 なので再び外に戻しました。 週明けの月曜日には、また氷に変わっているかもしれません。 見てみましょう！
In the workstation, they practiced tracing their name on the laminated name card using erasable markers and did some cutting practice. Next week, they will try to write their name on the paper using pencil.📝
ワークステーションでは、マーカーを使ってラミネート加工された名前カードに自分の名前をなぞって練習をしたり、ハサミの練習をしました。 来週は、紙に鉛筆で自分の名前を書くことに挑戦します。
