Hello everyone.
A frog is a small vertebrate animal. Frogs are an integral part of the food chain. They are an important source of food for birds, fish and snakes. These are complicated words for 3 year olds but this week we tried to connect this information to our first line of inquiry{LOI1}. The key takeaway was that a frog is a type of an animal!
皆さん、こんにちは。
カエルはご存じの通り、小さな脊椎動物です。カエルは食物連鎖の重要な一部です。カエルは鳥、魚、ヘビにとっては重要な食料源です。3、４歳のオーロラさんたちにとっては少々複雑な言葉ですが、私たちの身の回りの身近な生き物としてLOI 1につなげようとしました。大切なことは、カエルは動物の一種、私たちと世界を共有する仲間であるということです！
Frog craft
It rained quite a lot the past two weeks and most students had tales to tell about the frogs they ran into while they played outdoors. To connect this experience to our first line of inquiry,”various types of animals” we did a frog craft. Before we started the craft we did a guess what it is game. Some said they though it was a bear, some a zebra and some a dog!
この2週間は雨が多く、多くのオーロラさんたちが外で遊んでいるときに出会ったカエルの話をしていました。この経験を、私たちの最初のテーマである「いろいろな種類の動物」につなげるため、カエルのクラフトをしました。始める前にシルエットを見て、何を作るか質問したところ、ある子はクマ、ある子はシマウマ、ある子はイヌだと答えました！
Introduction to animals’ homes
After watching a video about the different types of places where animals live, we had a questions and answers session. The teacher asked why the hawk does not live in a coral/ sea. One student said that it’s because it cannot swim. Next question was why an octopus and different kinds of fish live in water. She answered by saying that they live there because they can swim! Good job little THINKER, 100% correct! We talked about this a bit more and then the teacher concluded with suggesting something to them in a way that led the conversation to oxygen-the air humans and animals breathe. Eventually we all arrived to the fact that octopuses and fish get the necessary oxygen they need from water.
動物が住む場所の種類についてのビデオを見た後、いくつか質問をしてみました。どうして鳥（鷹）は珊瑚の中や海には住まないのだろう？
ある子は「泳げないから」と答えました。どうしてタコやいろいろな種類の魚が水の中に住んでいるんだろう？という質問には「泳げるから」という答えが返ってきました！自分の考えを伝えようとすることは素晴らしいですね！人間や動物が生きていくのに必要な酸素(空気)を、水中で生活する生き物たちは水から得ているというお話は、、、まだオーロラさんには難しく生き物の世界は奥深いですね！
Phonics and the letter G!
After the teacher introduced words that begin with g to us, we fished for pictures that belonged to the initial g sound group! Everyone enjoyed casting their rods into the deep lake. Some of the words we added to our vocabulary bank include game, green, goose, glue, girl, grapes, gate and gum. We wrapped this up on Friday by practising how to write G.
Ms.Amandaが”G”で始まる単語を紹介した後、gの音で始まる単語が描かれた絵を釣りました。
みんな、深い湖に竿を投げて楽しみましたよ。game、green、goose、glue、girl、grapes、gate、gumなどがボキャブラリーに加わりました。金曜日には、Gの書き方を練習しました。
Gym
Our visit to Alps park zoo is scheduled for Thursday the 18th. Please take care of yourselves during the long weekend so that we can all be there for the tour!
