Celebrate Good Times! - ISN松本エリア｜インターナショナルスクールオブ長野（International School of Nagano）

Milky Way class has just started a new unit this week. The theme is how we express ourselves and the students will explore celebrations and why we have them. We will discuss many different celebrations and compare how they are celebrated in different countries. The students will focus on thinking skills, social skills, and research skills. We want the students to be open-minded about the differences between the celebrations and how people celebrate them. To inquire about the celebrations and communicate with each other to grow and learn together. We are looking forward to this unit.

今週から新しいユニットがスタートしました！
テーマは「私たちはどのように自分を表現するか」です。
このユニットでは様々なお祝い事とその由来について探求をし、思考スキル、社会的スキル、研究スキルを伸ばす事にフォーカスします✨
世界には異なるお祝い事があり、国によってどの様に祝うのか比較をし、祝い方は様々であると言う事について「Open-minded（心を開いて）」な状態で受け入れられるようになって欲しいと思います。
このユニットでは「お祝い事」を通して、様々な文化の違について知り、それを受け入れながら相手を理解し自分を表現する事が出来るようになると良いです✨このユニットでの成長もとても楽しみですね！

The first activity we did was a provocation. We set up tables with items on them that represent a celebration. The students walked around exploring the room. Later we discussed what they saw and guessed what the unit was about. They had a lot of fun! Friday they learned about Japanese New Year’s day.

まずはじめに行った活動は、みんなの興味を刺激するために、
５つのイベント（誕生日、バレンタイン、ひな祭り、クリスマス、ハロウィーン）のデコレーションがされたテーブルを見て回りました✨
そして、どんなデコレーションがされていたかについて話し合い、それが何の行事であるかについて意見出し合いました！
楽しい行事の話をしながら、とてもワクワクした様子でした♩

Friday they learned about Japanese New Year’s day.

金曜日は日本のお正月について探求をしました！
何故お正月をお祝いするのか？どんなものを食べてどんな風に過ごすのかを紹介しながら、お正月の代表的な遊びである、福笑いやかるた、コマをして遊びました！みんな、日本のお正月についてとてもよく理解出来ていました✨

This week was our class bus trip. The students have been so excited and looking forward to this trip. They played, walked around, and had a great time. We also had barefoot day which they enjoyed a lot.

そして今週はとても楽しみにしていたバス遠足がありました！
みんなこの日をとても心待ちにしていました✨
県の森公園では、サッカーをしたり、鯉や鳩に餌をあげたり、裸足で芝生の上を駆け回ったり、どんぐり拾いをしたりととても充実した1日を過ごす事が出来ました！
