This week has been a very exciting week for the Milky Way class. It snowed for the most part, but it did not stop us from having some fun time outside. We had a chance to play with the snow, and even though the temperature was low, the cold didn’t seem to bother the Milky Way kids. They really love being outside and it’s all good because it helps us to be physically active.
今週は、ミルキーウェイのお友達が大興奮する出来事がありました。今シーズン初の積雪があり、窓の外に見える景色にみんなのテンションはマックス状態！！外は凍えるような寒さでしたが、それを感じさせないほど雪遊びを楽しみました。みんな本当に外で体を動かすことが大好きで、良い運動になりました。
This was also the week of our Christmas Show! We practiced and added the finishing touches for our play and pianica performance. We had our final rehearsal at the venue last Wednesday and we even took a video of our practice. Then, we watched the video and observed how we performed on stage. Our class had a self-assessment exercise where they mentioned the things that they can improve in their performance. It was an effective strategy in making sure that the students were aware of their strengths and areas for improvement. It also encouraged them to do their best in every performance.
今週は年に一度のクリスマスショーが開催されました。劇とピアニカ＆ウッドブロックの合奏の最終調整をして本番にのぞみました。水曜日にはショー前最後のリハーサルがあり、立ち位置や劇で使う大道具の置き場所などの確認をするとともに、みんなの練習の様子を録画しました。スクールに戻ってから、自分の演技や立ち方などを動画で確認し、改善できるところを考えました。自分が良く出来ているところ、またもっと良く出来そうなところを自分たちで考えるとても良い機会になりました。クリスマスショー当日に、どんな風に頑張ったら良いかも確認することが出来ました。
The day of our Christmas Show was an unforgettable one. You can literally feel the excitement in the air! Everyone was on time and they barely needed help putting their costumes on because they already know what to get and how to wear them. We patiently waited for our turn and the kids were all quiet backstage. The students gave their very best performance! It definitely helped that they just enjoyed their time on stage and had fun the whole time. We are so proud of what they have accomplished.
クリスマスショー当日、忘れられない一日となりました。ショーに向けたみんなの気持ちが、ひとつになりました。みんな時間通りに集合し、先生たちの助けをほとんど借りることなくコスチュームを着用することが出来ました。自分がどのコスチュームが必要で、どうやって着用するかがわかっていたからです。さすが年長さんですね！シューティングスター・サバンナさんの演技中は、バックステージで静かに順番を待つことが出来ました。いよいよ、「オズと魔法使い」の劇のスタート。いままでで最高のパフォーマンスをお見せすることが出来ました！ステージ上で演技することをとても楽しむことが出来、「聖者の行進」の合奏も笑顔で素晴らしいハーモニーをお聞かせすることが出来ました。素晴らしいパフォーマンスをやり遂げたことに、担任一同とても誇りに思います。
