Milky Way enjoyed the week with Mr. Lance being there for 4 days!
This week and next week, Mr. Lance is here at ISN except Wednesday, which makes the students very happy!
This week in our English Lesson, we focused on consonant blend CL, FL and GL. We could find a lot of words starting or ending with them. Everyone likes to make a different partner and are very good at working together to find words in the classroom.
Our Friendly Pairs Garden was made so beautifully and put up in the wall outside the classroom.
When we remember the Friendly Pairs(we also call them Number Bonds), it makes us familiar with numbers and makes us easy to do addition.
The students loved to watch and follow this song with funny looking DJ;
As a start of making the Friendly Pairs Garden, we listed up all the pairs which sums are 1 up to 10 just like:
1 and 0, 0 and 1 make 1.
1 and 5, 2 and 4, 3 and 3, 5 and 1, 4 and 2 make 6.
What they felt very interesting was the fact that the number of pairs go up one by one as the sum of the pairs go higher and higher like this:
2 pairs make 1. 3 pairs make 2. 4 pairs make 3.
5 pairs make 4. 6 pairs make 5. 7 pairs make 6.
8 pairs make 7. 9 pairs make 8. 10 pairs make 9. 11 pairs make 10.
We divided ourselves into some pairs and groups to make some insects and plants with the number pairs.
