Shooting Star has been learning about Global Warming and what causes it, for the last unit of their IB. This week, they have learned how to help the planet avoid plastic pollution. They discovered the magic of 3R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. In the classroom, we set up 3 trash bins where they can sort their garbages: A pink box for Plastic, a Purple box for paper, and the classroom’s trashcan for the burnable. It’s very satisfying to see the students being responsible for their actions at a very young age. シューティングスタークラスでは、Global Warming（地球温暖化）について学び、それが何なのか、どのように影響しているのかなどについて、前回のUnitの中で学びました。今週は、プラスチックごみの汚染から地球をどうしたら守れるのかを学びました。子供たちは 3R(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle )の素晴らしさについて学び、教室に子供たちがゴミの分別が出来るように3種類の箱を置きました。ピンクはプラスチック、紫は紙、ごみ箱は燃えるゴミ、の3種です。小さい子供たちがゴミの分別をする姿は、本当に素晴らしいです。
Also, they made their eco-bag for their future shopping. They decorated it for the whole week and on Friday, we practiced how to use it and how they can say NO to plastic bags when they go shopping. The activity was very successful and students had so much. また、子供たちはお買い物に行くときに使えるエコバックを制作しました。今週、紙袋にデコレーシォンをしエコバックを作り、金曜日にはお買い物をする時にレジ袋の購入を断り、自分のエコバックを使う練習をしました。
Before ending this blog, I would also like to share another fun activity the shooting star students did this week: The Paper doll making 今週おこなったもう一つの活動は、クラフトです。紙でお人形を制作しました。
Led by Ms. Hitoko, the students made their paper dolls in celebration of the Hina doll’s festival! They were able to hone their artistic and creative skills in their activity! ひな祭りがもうすぐですね。そこでひな人形を色画用紙、和紙の折り紙、クレヨン、のり、などを使い制作しました。廊下に展示していますのでご覧ください。台紙の作成も自分たちで作り、お内裏様、お雛様の着物を折り紙で折り、お顔をクレヨンで描き、初めから最後まで全てを自分たちで作りました。さすがはSSさん！！個性あふれるひな人形ができました。
