It has been another fun week for the Shooting Star class – They started the week by doing book research: Each student had a book about Buildings. They were given the task to record the data, like the shape, the color, the size, and what’s inside by drawing in a worksheet given to them. The students had so much fun going through the whole book and discover different types of buildings and their features.
今週もとても充実した週を送ることができました！なんと今週はSSさんが初めて経験する本を使ったリサーチアクティビティをしました。建物についての本を先生達が作りその本をもとに自分の好きな建物を選んで、外見、色、大きさ、建物の中にあるものを絵に描きました。みんなとても上手に絵を描けるようになってきているので、色々な綺麗な建物が見られとても喜ばしかったです。始めは建物の外見ではなく、建物の形だけを描くはずでしたが、数名の子が「看板も描きたい！」と言ってくれたので、みんなで形だけではなく外見も描こう！と決めました。ISNではこういった子どもからのアイディアを大切にし、楽しく学んでいます。
We love making friends with letters, and this week we practiced writing the letters Xx and Yy. They are getting more familiar with each letter, and have mastered getting to know each.
SSさんはアルファベットとお友達になるのがとても上手です！今週はXとYを練習しました。ワードサイエンティストのSSさんは毎日アルファベットを観察し、理解をもっと深めていきます。
Also this week, we started to read another book: He said no
In the book, we got to know different kinds of snacks. Reading the book was a good practice to get exposed to different food vocabularies.
今週のリーディングは「He said no」を読みました。この本は色々なスナックについて話しており、色々なお菓子にはNoと言い、最後に野菜がでてきて、Yes！と言うお話です。健康なものは毎日たべ、お菓子などのJunk foodは適度に食べましょうと子ども達に教える機会もできました。
The high light of this week was the craft! The whole class was able to enjoy shimmering glitters in different colors and was able to make whatever shapes they want. It’s a very good activity to hone their creativity and exercise their imagination.
今週のハイライトはクラフトです！スポーツフェスティバルで展示するクラフトの一つを「花火」をテーマにキラキラするラメで作りました！スマイリーフェイスやハート等色々な形があり、とても綺麗な花火ができあがりました！子ども達の創造力を伸ばすアクティビティですね！
