After the Christmas show we have been getting back into a normal routine. We’re having lots of fun with phonics and learning new shapes! This week the students learned about the pyramid and cylinder shape. We did a matching activity. The students cut out some different puzzle pieces and put them together with the shape and the picture it matches. They glued them on a sheet of paper when they were done. The students also made a snowman by making two spheres out of paper.
クリスマスショーが終わり、少しゆったりと過ごした1週間。Shooting Starクラスでは、新しい形（pyramidとcylinder）を学びました。今まで習った３D shapesを使ってマッチングゲームをしたり、細長く切った紙をつなぎ合わせてた球体で雪だるまを作りました！来週は、cylinderの形から、雪だるまの帽子を作ってみようと思います。
For the phonics lesson this week we did the same activity last week making sentences with picture cards. We gave them different pictures this time and they came up with lots of different sentences. Some of them even changed the words to make all sorts of different sentences. For example, they changed the word look to looks and made a new sentence with that word.
フォニックスのレッスンでは、先週と同じ文章作りに夢中になって取り組みました。新しい単語カードを使って、今回は主語がIだけでなく、The fox looks at me.などというように、主語を変えたり、動詞を変化させて文章を作ることもできました。また、3つの文字から構成される単語を綴るアクティビティーもしました。カードを引き、beginning, middle, endの３つの音を声に出しながらスペルを考えて書きました。この練習は、リーディングで文字を読む際にも必要になってきます。今後も、引き続き文字と音をマッチさせられるように練習していきます。
Thursday we decided to go to the park. There was no music class and we didn’t get to go Tuesday because of the rain. They were all so happy to be outside in the nice weather. The students had a lot of fun.
今週は気温が高く、雨の降る日もありましたね。なかなか、外遊びができなかったのですが、教室内でたくさんのクラフトをして過ごしました。雪だるまを作ったり、サンタさんへの手紙を書いてクリスマスツリーを、はじき絵の技法を使って描きました。子どもたち一人ひとりのツリーやデコレーション、愛のつまったサンタさんへのお手紙。来週はきっと、そんなShooting Starの子どもたちのもとへサンタさんはやってきてくれることでしょう♪
