Let’s give thumbs up for Canyon students for doing a great job this week!
We read a story entitled “Elmer the Elephant”. The 3-4 year old class learned that “It is okay to be different from other children. Like Elmer, they can make others happy and put a smile on their faces even though he is different from all other elephants”. The next day, Canyon students decorated a big elephant to make it look like Elmer. Each student painted a square paper with their favorite color, then paste it on the elephant’s body. Then, we created our version of Elmer’s patchwork body!
ISNのみなさん、こんにちは。
今週もキャニオンさん達が様々な探求をしました。Ms. Fronieに「Elmer the Elephant（ぞうのエルマー）」という絵本を読んでもらいました。この本から学んだのは、「他のお友達と違っていてもいいんだ。エルマーのように他の象と違っていても、みんなを幸せにしたり、笑顔にしたりすることが出来る。」という事です。翌日、キャニオンさん達はオリジナルのエルマーを作りました。四角い紙を自分たちの好きな色で絵の具で塗って、それを大きなエルマーの体に貼り付けました！
In the gym, everyone had a great time! They tried to jump using both of their feet in a rope! Good job, most of them did it right! They enjoyed rolling, running, and other exercises together with their friends and teachers.
水曜日の体操教室では、ロープの上を足をそろえてジャンプする練習をしました。ほとんどの子が上手に跳ぶことが出来ました。Good job!! ロープの下をくぐったり、走ったりしてお友達や先生とたくさん体を動かしました。
Before our writing activity, we studied about the sound of letter “Ee” and the words that start with it like “eel, eagle, Earth, elephant”. Then, they were able to trace this letter with the help of numbered strokes in their paper.
今週はEの文字を学習しています。ライティングをする前にEの音とEで始まる言葉、eelウナギ、eagle鷲、 Earth地球、 elephant象について学び、そのイラストの色塗りをしました。それから書き順に従ってEの文字のなぞり書きをしました。最初の文字は先生と一緒に書き、2つ目の文字からは自分たちでクレヨンを持って書きました。
These 3-4 year old students are enjoying singing the phrase song entitled “What’s your name?”. They are singing it in pairs.
Canyon students are also learning about different colors and shapes. Tomorrow, they are going to choose their favorite shape and have to color it with their favorite color. This activity will show who they are which reflects to our theme for the first unit that is “Who We Are”.
夕会では、What’s your name? My name is …というフレーズを学ぶため、お友達とペアになって歌を歌っています。みんなこの歌が大好きで、特にペアのお友達と握手をしたりハグしながら歌うところがお気に入りです。
様々な色や形についても学んでいます。金曜日は自分の好きな形を一つ選んで自分の好きな色で塗ります。この活動は、今年度最初に取り組んでいるユニット”Who We Are（私たちは何者なのか）”を知る一つの鍵になっています。
