Hi everyone.
The highlight of our week was the trip to “Azumino Horseland. ” The man who welcomed us and gave us a tour of the premises told us that horses have a sweet tooth. He said that carrots are one of their favorites! Everyone got a chance to feed them. Aurora displayed great self-management skills as they waited patiently for their turn.They were all PRINCIPLED.

今週のハイライトは「安曇野ホースランド」へ行ったことです。飼育員さんのお話によると馬は甘いものが好きなそうです。人参も馬にとっては甘い食べ物のようです。一人一回、おやつ（草のクッキー）を馬ややぎにあげる体験もさせていただきました。（おなかをすかせた勢いのある馬にちょっとびっくりしていたオーロラさんたちでした）自分の番が来るのをじっと待つことができ、みんな立派な”PRINCIPLED”（信念を持つ人）でした！

今回のホースランドの訪問で私たちが学んだことは以下の通りです。
1.Horses are gentle creatures;they distaste noise.
馬は穏やかな生き物で騒音を嫌います。
2. They are great eaters; they munch away at grass, carrots, apples etc for the majority of their day.
一日の大半を草やニンジン、リンゴなどを食べて過ごしています。
3. Their poop is used as manure for the grass and hay they eat as well as for plants in general.
馬のウンチは、馬が食べる草や干し草、また植物全般の肥料として使われています。
Number 3 is related to our 3rd and final line of inquiry for this unit. Animals serve great purposes in humans’ lives. Who would have thought animal poop was important?!Certainly not a group of 3 and 4 year olds!
It felt good to ride on the bus with our sister class , Canyon. Thank you Canyon for inviting us!!!!
その3は、LOI 3【人と動物は互いに助け合っている】を学ぶとてもいい機会になりました。動物は人間の生活の中で大きな役割を果たしています。動物のフンが重要だなんて、誰が考えただろう？
島内キャンパスのCanyonさんと一緒にバスに乗れて、とても楽しかったです。招待してくれたCanyonさん、ありがとう！！
Whose chick is that?
Since our current unit is related to animals, the teacher asked the students to vote for a craft they wanted to do. They voted for chick, so on Tuesday we made our own individual and unique chicks with our handprints.
Unit2はみんなが大好きなAnimals！そこで子どもたちのかわいい小さな手形でひよこを作りました。個性的なかわいいひよこの出来上がりです！
Phonics and the letter J
Jelly, jug, juice, jeans, jar, jet, jungle, jazz, jump and jogger are some of the words we learnt this week.We move on to “K” next week.
今週のフォニックスレッスンは「J」。たくさんの単語を学びました。来週は「K」から始まる単語を学びます。
