In the Grade 3 classroom this week, we have been working on our final projects for the Grade 3 year. The basis for these projects is in considering problems and how we can solve them.
今週のGrade３のクラスでは今年度最後のプロジェクトに取り掛かりました。このプロジェクトの基礎は問題について考え、どうしたら解決するかというものです。
We began the week by applying the same measure of conflict to our problems. These being, personal, local, national and international. We thought of different examples of problems, i.e. forgetting to do chores at home, insects killing pine trees around Nagano, Corona virus in Japan and global warming.
今週は「対立の 同じ手段を 私たちの問題に適用すること」から始めました。個人、地域、国、そして世界のスケールで、様々な問題の例を考えてみました。例えば、お家でのお手伝いや日課などをし忘れてしまった（個人）、長野県内で虫が松の木を病気にしている（地域）、日本での新型コロナウイルスの流行（国）、そして地球温暖化について（世界）などの問題です。
Students broke into pairs and decided upon a problem they would like to address. The choices were unanimous in addressing environmental concerns, from plastics in oceans to deforestation and climate change.
子ども達はペアに分かれ、取りかかりたい問題を決めました。それぞれが、海のプラスチックや森林破壊、気候変動などの環境問題について取り組みたいと合意して決めました。
After observing the students working by themselves on Tuesday, it was decided that we should have a session focused on learning about climate change, what it is, how it affects us and what can be done to address it.
子ども達が各自調べたいことについて作業を進めているのを見て、クラス全体で気候変動について、気候変動とは何か、どのように私たちに影響を及ぼすか、そして何をしたら良いのか学ぼうということになりました。
Presentations will be given next week by the students, as well as posters being made to be displayed outside the classroom.
子ども達はクラスルームの外に貼る用に製作中のポスターと共に調べたことを来週発表します。
