To learn is to touch, see, feel and remember experiences. Cocoro, one of our student’s pet dog visited us in school. We were learning about taking care of pet animals. What better way to learn than by creating real, authentic first hand experiences. We practised it in class, gently patting our “class dog”, brushing and feeding it. Now we do it for real! We also learned to observe Cocoro’s tail. If she wags it, it means she’s happy. If her tail is between her legs, we have to tone down our voices and not get too excited.
学びとは、実際に触れたり、見たり、感じたりすることで得ることが出来、その体験は記憶に深く残ります。今週は、オーロラクラスのお友達が飼っている犬「ココロちゃん」がスクールに来てくれました。クラスではぬいぐるみを使って、ペットをお世話する方法を学びました。ぬいぐるみの犬や猫を優しく撫でであげたり、ブラッシングしたり、餌を与えたりしてお世話をする体験をしました。ですが今回は本物のワンちゃんが目の前に来てくれました！みんな練習通り、優しく撫でてあげることが出来ました。ココロちゃんの尻尾の動きを観察することも学びました。ココロちゃんが尻尾を振っていると、「うれしい」という意味。ココロちゃんの尻尾が足の間に垂れ下がっていると、不安に思っているという意味で、静かな声で話しかけなければいけないと知りました。
Two of Aurora’s students turned 4 years old! Happy happy birthday! 🥳 💓 We painted our shoeboxes to prepare for our habitat dioramas. We thought about features of the different habitats. Green, brown for trees in the jungle and some flowers. Blue for ocean and colourful corals. Blue for polar Antarctica, white for the snow and ice. Then next week, we will put them all together… our cut-out animals, corals, snow, and trees.
今月は2人のオーロラさんが誕生日を迎え、4歳になりました！おめでとう！ 🥳 💓 生息地のジオラマを完成させるため、靴箱に色を塗りました。自分が作っている生息地はどんな景色かを考えました。ジャングルには緑色と茶色の木があったり、花があったりします。海は青色、そしてカラフルなサンゴがあります。極地には青い海、雪や氷には白色を使います。来週は、みんなが色塗りした動物たち、サンゴ、雪、木など全てをジオラマに取り付けます♪楽しみですね。
For Literacy, we worked on writing our names on lines and blending letter sounds to read words. We sounded out each individual letter then blend by “joining” the sounds together, saying it faster. For example, p… i… g —- p i g — pig! We also used an Ipad app Starfall Phonics to help us learn. The 3- letter word game was fun! For Numeracy, we have been practising writing numbers 1-10.
読み書きの学習では、自分の名前を書く練習をしたり、簡単な単語を読む練習をしました。まず、それぞれのアルファベットの音を読みあげ、その音をつなげて読み、少し早く読む練習をしました。 例えば、 p（プッ）… i（イッ）… g（グッ） —- p i g — pig! のようにです。iPadのStarfall Phonicsというアプリを使って、単語を読む練習をしました。3文字単語のゲームは、みんなとても気に入ったようです。1-10までの数字を書く練習もしています。
We still have music lessons with our pianicas. On one of the rainy days, we played indoor with a game of Duck, Duck, Goose and Balancing Bridge. Most of the week was bright and sunny so we had a great time in our schoolyard. Till next Monday, have a wonderful weekend!
ミュージックレッスンでは、ピアニカの練習をしました。雨降りで外で遊べなかった日は、教室で Duck, Duck, Goose （ハンカチ落としのようなゲーム）をしたり、バランス力を身に着けるアクテビティをしました。一日を除き毎日お天気が続いたので、外でもたくさん体を動かしました。午後はとても暖かく、ジャケットを脱いで走り回っています。来週の月曜日まで、良い週末をお過ごしください！
