Another very interesting week is behind the Project A Class. This week they have continued their studies in Scratch, by looking into making various mini games.
On Monday and Tuesday, the students tried making their own maze game, with them creating their own mazes and guiding their character through several levels to reach the goal. Some students chose a simple ball as their character, but some got creative and made a mouse chase after cheese or a cat chase after donuts.
On Wednesday, they tried their hand in making their own version of Pong, a game of bouncing a ball against a small paddle. Because of how much fun it is to play today, everyone seemed amazed that this game was created back in 1972. The students also learned that the first machine to run pong was bigger than shelves.
Thursday and Friday are reserved for the Snake game: a popular game in which the player controls the snake which grows longer and longer after every piece of food it consumes.
The students have also learned how important it is to always save their work so they can keep playing and improving the games they have created themselves the next day or next week.
Everyone seemed to enjoy exploring with Scratch and hopefully their curiosity will continue, as we explore different computer software in the weeks to come. Have a great weekend!
今週も、The Project Aクラスはとっても楽しく、様々なミニゲームを作り、Scratchプログラミングの学習を続けました。月曜と火曜は、子供達は、独自の迷路を作り、いくつかのレベルを経てキャラクターがゴールに到達する迷路ゲームを作りました。 シンプルなボールをキャラクターに選ぶ子もいれば、チーズを追いかけるネズミや、ドーナツを追いかける猫など、工夫してキャラクターを作りました。
水曜は、小さなパドルでボールを打ち合うPongゲームの独自バージョンを作ってみました。今現在もPongゲームはとても面白いですが、このゲームは、1972年に作られたゲームで、当時のPONGの筐体は、ISNにある棚より大きかったことも知り、みんなびっくりしていました。
木曜と金曜は、プレイヤーが蛇を操作して、蛇が餌を食べる度に、蛇の身体が長くなっていく有名なへびゲームをしました。
また、翌日や来週も自身で作成したゲームで遊んだり改良したりできるように、いつも作業を保存することが重要であることも学びました。
皆、Scrachで新しいことを学び、とっても楽しんでいました。今後数週間で、異なるソフトウェアも学んでいきますので、お楽しみに！
