G1-We are a Box of Crayons!

“We are a Box of Crayons
each of us unique,
but when we get together
the picture is complete”

Hello! The last two weeks of April were another learning adventure for us.

At school we listen to a story of talking crayons. How at first they didn’t like each other but in the end they realized that each one of them were unique and can do different things. We learned how to be accepting and understanding of our different abilities and characteristics. Sometimes, in class we look at our differences and see it as something bad and wrong. But now we are starting to realize that just like a crayon in a box, we are all beautifully different from one another. We just have to appreciate and celebrate our differences. For us to be open-minded and try to respect each other is very important. We want harmony in class and getting along with each other is always a key to building good relationships.

We might not be in a box like the crayons but we are in the same class and the same school. This means that without the other person we will not be complete. Each one of us decorated and wrote our names on a paper crayon that will represent us. This will remind us of the lesson we learned from the crayon box talked.

We value not just our self but as well as other people. Together we will all make a difference and make a better world.

We also focused on building not just good relationships with our friends and families but also with the school community. We even had the chance to interview some of the teachers at school and try to get to know them better. We asked about their jobs, skills, and even their favorites! We even tried to draw their pictures for the profile. It was a fun experience. We also made a teacher’s profile for each of them and had the chance to present it to the class. Trying to get to know our teachers better will also help us build good relationships with them.

During our P.E. time, we played with balls. We get to throw, catch, kick, as well as use it on our exercises. We were all excited to try the new tasks.

We also love to sing and listen to music! We get to learn new songs every time we have our music class. I hope we get to play with the our musical instruments soon. Maybe it is because of corona that’s why we don’t get to use it lately. However, we are still looking forward to seeing our music teacher every Wednesday.

Hope you keep reading our future blogs. We still have more updates in store for you all. Thank you for reading!
