The weather is warmer this week, and so we had a chance to enjoy some fun time outside our classroom. We had our morning exercise outside, which we haven’t done for a long time. The Milky Way kids enjoyed the cool autumn breeze and the warmth of sunshine while doing their exercise routines.
今週はとても暖かい一週間でしたね。この暖かい陽気に誘われ、今週は外で活動を楽しむことが出来ました。久しぶりに外で朝の体操をすることも出来ました。みんなで体操したり、ランニングをしたりして体を思い切り動かしました！
In Tennis, we practiced the skill of volleying a ball. The tennis racket is still a bit big for the tiny hands and arms of the Milky Way kids, but they are already getting the hang of it. Most of them can already volley the tennis ball using the racket, but we still need more practice to master this skill.
テニスレッスンでは、ボレーをする練習をしました。テニスラケットはみんなの小さい手にはまだ少し大きく感じますが、扱いは上手になってきています。ほとんどのお友達が、先生の投げたボールをネットを超えてボレーすることが出来るようになりました。
This week was also made extra special with the help of our resource speaker, who came over to talk about a celebration from her home country. Mrs. Min, one of our parents in Milky Way, discussed the Traditional Korean Wedding. Although a wedding is a common celebration in most countries, Korean Wedding has unique traditions and interesting symbols that cannot be found in any other cultures. One of the traditions that we talked about in class is the inclusion of geese in a Traditional Korean Wedding. Goose symbolizes synergy and loyalty in Korea so they make sure to include this in their weddings. We also discussed traditional clothing and headdress during Korean Weddings. We even got to see how it would look like in person. It was an interesting and fun day!
今週もUOIの時間に特別講師の方が来てくださり、母国のお祝いについてお話していただきました。ミルキーウェイクラスの保護者でもある、Mrs. Minに伝統的な韓国の結婚式について教えていただきました。結婚式はどこの国でも共通のお祝い事ですが、韓国の結婚式は他の国にはない独特な慣習と興味深い象徴物 があることがわかりました。その中でクラスで話し合ったのは、韓国の結婚式の象徴のひとつ、「ガチョウ」についてです。ガチョウは、「共働」、「忠実」の象徴と考えられていて、そのためガチョウを結婚式には必ず取り入れるようにしているそうです。韓国の伝統的な結婚式の装いや髪飾りについてもお話をしていただきました。Ms. Shizukaをモデルに、伝統的なお化粧や髪結いの仕方も見せていただきました！とっても楽しいレッスンでした。
