Another exciting week is behind Milky Way.
In Math, they learned more about symmetry and Venn diagrams, in English they have studied more phonics and in social studies, they have focused on showing their emotions and ideas in their drawings and paintings, the knowledge they will happily show to their parents during next week’s presentation. They also did a lot of craft this week, finishing their tree prop for their performance.
Nevertheless, the main event of this week was Friday’s Christmas show.
The students have gathered around their teachers in the early morning, visibly excited to start. Since their musical performance was very early in the show, the students had to get ready very quickly. They changed into their costumes and out on their Santa hats very fast, showing a lot of independence while doing so. after singing the opening song “Jingle Bells” with other ISN students, they out their costume hats on and got ready for the performance of “Hansel and Gretel”. Some of the students were visibly nervous, some were very confindent in their acting skills, but everyone did amazingly in the end and they received compliments from other teachers as well. They spoke confidently, in a loud voice and sang their songs and danced their dances beautifully.
After quickly changing out of their costumes, the students drew, played and had their snack in the waiting room while waiting for their music perfromance. Together with Rainforest students and their teachers, they peformed two songs on various instruments and sang he closing song “Santa Claus is coming to Town” after that.
There was a feeling of excitement in the air as the students finished their perfromances, received a sweet present from Santa Claus and rushed to meet their parents. Let’s look forward to next year’s Christmas show as well with the students in Elementary class!
