The theme for this unit is who we are and our central is every family is different. The first line of inquiry is families are a like and different. The students brought in their family photo this week and share with their friends who is in their family. They stood in front of the class and did show and tell. It was nice seeing everyone’s families. Thank you so much for sending in the photos!
現在学んでいるユニットのテーマは、”Who We Are”です。この単元では、 ”every family is different”（同じ家族は二つとない） とういう内容を中心に進めていきます。初めの探求は、 families are a like and different （家族は似ているところもあれば、違うところもある）です。今週は、各ご家庭に家族写真を提供していただきました。ご協力、ありがとうございました。Show and Tellの時間を設け、一人ひとりが家族をクラスのお友達に紹介しました。それぞれの家族写真を見ることができて、本当に素晴らしいと感じました。
We had a musical time in phonics this week. Not only are they learning about letters and sounds, but also syllables. The students got to use castanets to help them hear the beats or syllables in their names and in words. At the end of the lesson we did a syllable parade and they got to march around the room learning syllables in different words. It was a lot of fun!
今週、フォニックスの時間には、少しの音楽を取り入れた活動をしました。アルファベットや音を学ぶだけではなく、 音節（syllables）についても学びました。子どもたちはカスタネットを使い、 自分たちの名前や言葉にある音節を理解する活動をしました。レッスンの終わるころ、クラスの中を音節の音を出しながらマーチングを楽しんでいました。とても楽しいActivityになりました！
