We have had a fun week learning about how humans affect the environment. For their summative assessment for this line of inquiry, the students will do a presentation on the different things that affect the earth. Air pollution, water pollution, and deforestation. The students have two weeks to prepare for their presentations.
Each group chose a different way to present. Two groups chose to do role play while the other group chose to do a Kamishibai. The students are all working very hard and are showing great communication skills.
Next Friday the students will present their projects to the class. We are focusing on their thinking skills this unit and this will be a great opportunity to test those skills. They will have to gather all the information they have learned and teach their peers. We are very excited to see what the outcome will be.

今週のシューティングスタークラスでは、Unit4のビッグプロジェクトに向けて動き出しました！今週のLine of Inquiryは “Humans affect the environment.”ということで、海や山の自然が人間の生活や活動によって影響を受けています。その問題を海、森、空気に分けて学んできました。その学びを、子どもたちが劇や紙芝居にして発表する準備をしました。動物のお面を作ったり、段ボールで木や工場を作ったり・・・。紙芝居のグループはそれぞれが海の生き物になってキャラクターとして登場するストーリーを作って、紙芝居を描いています。 来週はさらにストーリーを完成させて、それぞれの台詞を練習していきます。そして、来週金曜日は発表会！どんな物語でこの問題が伝えられるか、とても楽しみです！
また、リーディングでも新しいことを始める準備がされています。今までRAZ bookという本の同じレベルを一斉に読んできましたが、今週末からは個々の読む力にあったレベルの本を持ち帰ります。本を読むのが楽しい、自分一人で読める！と思える程度のレベルでたくさんの絵を見て、単語を読んで、それぞれのペースで読解力と読む力をつけていきましょう！
