Though we only had three days of school this week, still our boys and girls had so much fun and learned a lot about animals.
今週は3日間しか学校がありませんでしたが、男の子も女の子もとても楽しんで、動物についてたくさんのことを学びました。
Since we finished the discussion about the four habitats of animals, this time we discovered what animals are native to Japan through watching a video. The names of the animals are a little bit long, but most of them were able to say it once the teacher said the first syllable of the word. I also asked them to stick the pictures on the Japan map.
動物の4つの生息地についての話し合いが終わったので、今回はビデオを見ながら日本に生息する動物を発見しました。動物の名前は少し長いのですが、先生が単語の最初の音節を言うと、ほとんどの子どもたちが言うことができました。また、その写真を日本地図に貼ってもらいました。
Then to review the names of the animals which are new to them, they completed an animal habitat puzzle. I gave them a picture of the four habitats, then asked them to take a picture of animals that live in those habitats. As I was observing them, I noticed that they only took the picture of animals that they needed for the specific habitat, and they were naming them. Good job! I also asked them to present their puzzle in front, so other students could also review the names of the animals.
そして、初めて見る動物の名前を復習するために、動物の生息地のパズルを完成しました。4つの生息地の絵を渡して、その生息地に住む動物の写真を取ってもらいました。子どもたちを観察していると、特定の生息地に必要な動物の写真だけを取り、名前を付けていることに気づきました。さすがですね。また、他の子どもたちが動物の名前を確認できるように、パズルを前で発表してもらいました。
In our class, we have a world map puzzle which also shows animals around the world. Our boys and girls got interested in completing the puzzle and they did it! They were so patient in finding each piece that would fit the puzzle. Well done everyone!
私たちのクラスには、世界の動物たちが描かれた世界地図のパズルがあります。男の子も女の子も、パズルを完成させることに興味を持ち、それをやり遂げることができました。忍耐強くパズルに合うピースを探していました。みんなよくできましたね。
In phonics, we focused on the letter M as in monkey, mango, mouse, moon, man, and mother. They also did the mystery letter worksheet and practiced writing the uppercase letter M.
フォニックスでは、 monkey、mango、mouse、moon、man、motherのように、Mの文字に注目しました。また、謎の文字が書かれた用紙を使って、大文字のMを書く練習をしました。
