This week I was very happy to be welcomed back into Rainforest after my holiday to Melbourne, Australia. Thank-you Hono for the hug!
We have been doing more addition using number lines and learning strategies to spell words using the ‘Have A Go’ method. I ask them to spell a word, for example, ‘walk’, and they think of three different ways to spell it. For example, they might spell it as ‘waulk’, ‘worlk’ and ‘walk’. The aim is to get the students thinking about all the sounds that could make up the letters needed to form the word, then after everyone has made three attempts, I ask the students which one looks correct.
Today the students will learn their pianica song for the Christmas show and next week we will start learning our lines for our performance of the Wizard of Oz, one of my favourite movies in history!
