With a deeper knowledge, comes deeper questions

After 7 weeks of hard work, this week we finally finished our investigations about “Who we are” and our central idea “Occupations are interconnected and essential for the well-being of a community.”
We are now compiling our work samples into our folios. We celebrated our unit by visiting the Watahan store in Shiojiri. It was an excellent time for students to ask questions, take notes, and make observations based on their deeper understanding of the central idea. Everyone was excited about the visit and enjoyed seeing and inquiring further about this successful business. We looked at 3 sections of the store: the packing and preparing sections, the customer section where people are choosing their items, and the outdoor section with lots of plants and outdoor equipment.
Using the information they gathered on this excursion, students will write letters, draw pictures and make charts to say thank you to the Shiojiri Watahan staff. Well done Elementary Class!
