This week, Grade 3 has started exploring the concept of government. We began by looking at how we organize ourselves. From bags in lockers to playing a game and what we can learn in each of these different situations. We saw that organization requires people to agree to cooperate and be ready to accept that they cannot get exactly what they want This we call compromise.
今週のグレード3クラスでは政治について探究を始めました。私たちは、教科の域を超えたテーマ「自分たちを自分たちをどう組織しているのか(社会の構造）」について調べ始めました。ロッカーのバッグやゲームを遊ぶ時など様々な状況において学ぶことができます。私達は人々が協力することに応じる必要がり、自分達が望むものをその通りに得ることができないこともあることを受け入れる準備必要がある組織について見ました。これを歩み寄り（妥協）と言います。
We also looked at definitions of some words that are commonly used when talking about government, for example, citizens, taxes, vote, liberty, and laws.
政治に関しての話題に良く出てくる単語、例えば、市民、税金、投票、自由、法律などについての定義について調べました。
We then looked at some examples of different forms of government. These included, democracy, autocracy and oligarchy.
それから、いくつかの政治体制の例を見ました。民主主義、独裁政治、寡頭政治などです。
The class showed a good determination to learn the meanings of all these new terms and understand their usage.
生徒達は、これらすべての新しい用語の意味を学び、それら単語の使い方を良く理解していました。
