We are enjoying ISN Minami Campus!

In just one week we have certainly settled-in to our new home at Minami; and it feels like home too. With excitement we have already walked to 2 local parks and everyone enjoys seeing and talking to the little ones each day. We would like to thank all the classes at Minami for helping us. It is great to be with everyone.
Our new transdisciplinary theme “Where we are in place and time” and our central idea “Geography influences how communities interact with their environment.” are definitely stimulating all students to inquire into many big questions such as: “What is geography?” and “How do you look at things like a geographer?”
This week each student has started looking at things like a geographer. They have chosen 3 landforms to research and present to the class. Through these activities students will gain a deeper understanding of just how a geographer looks at the surface of the earth: the land, the water, and the weather and how these influence the activities of people.
Students are also enjoying swimming classes which will now continue for the next 3 months. In addition gym classes continue to stimulate further physical activity. Students are very excited about the Sports Festival on October 6 when they will perform their gymnastics routine to music and participate in lots of other fun activities. On this day students will also compete against parents in 3 ball games: tunnel ball, leader ball, and corner spry. We continue to practice these ball games at school and look forward to this competition.
