Hello, how’s it going?
In the Grade 3 classroom, we have been creating our own countries with governments.
グレード3のクラスでは、自分達で独自の国と政府を作りました。
In establishing our countries, we considered some basic factors that are needed if we wish to call ourselves a “country”. These included, name, citizens, capital, boundaries, passport, defense and infrastructure (roads, water, etc.).
国を作るにあたり、生徒達は国と呼ばれるのに必要ないくつかの基本的な要素について考えました。名前、市民、首都、境界、パスポート、防衛、インフラストラクチャ（道路、水など）があります。
The students split into three groups and organized themselves with regards to delegating roles and communicating progress with their individual tasks.
生徒たちは3つのグループにわかれ、自分の役割と個々のタスクついて伝えることを準備しました。
On Tuesday morning the 3 groups presented their work to the class. The 3 countries were duly named, Slimefishanimal, Jakty and Aslantaturio.
火曜日の朝、3つのグループは準備した内容をクラスメートに発表しました。3カ国の名前は、スライムフィッシュアニマル、 Jakty 、 Aslantaturio です。
All were hugely imaginative and rich with detail from native animals to maps and flags. Well done everyone.
どの国もとても想像力に富み、在来動物、地図や旗まで詳しく考えられていました。皆、よくやったね！
Later in the week, we developed our countries by placing them on a planet called Isnuchi and adding individual governments to each country. We then began a game scenario where the students decided government departments they would lead and had to respond to various issues, i.e. a bumper harvest (store or sell), drought, population increase. It has been a lot of fun hearing the groups debating the action necessary to best react to the situations.
週の後半は、 Isnuchi という惑星に国々を置き、各国の政府を追加しました。それから、自分達が主導する政府機関を決めて、様々な課題（例、豊富な収穫、蓄えまたは販売、干ばつ、人口増加などに対応する必要があるゲームシナリオを始めました。各シナリオに対してどのような必要な対策を取るのか、グループ毎にとても面白い話し合いになりました。
