As of this week, we are now giving more attention to our Performance Day extravaganza. We are working on our stage positions, cues for entering/exiting the stage and gestures. Some of the students have made real strides with learning their lines and so we can focus more on intonation and the context of what their character is saying at that given time.
今週は、子どもたちはパフォーマンスデーのショーにより集中して取り組みました。ステージの位置、ステージに出入りするための合図、ジェスチャーに取り組みました。何人かの生徒は台詞覚えが順調に進んでいますので、イントネーションとキャラクターになりきって台詞を言うことをさらに練習していきたいと思います。
We also took time to reflect upon our characters and what we consider to be their defining personality traits, as well as speculating as to what other interests they might have i.e. favourite foods, animals, sports, etc. Through this, we hope to create the distinction between on and off stage personas. When we are on the stage we are wearing a “mask” and playing a character rather than being just an extension of ourselves.
また、キャラクターとその特徴を明確に表現するにはどうすればよいか考えました。好きな食べ物、動物、スポーツなど、他にどのような興味があるのかも考えました。これらを知ることで、オンステージとオフステージの登場人物の違いを区別したいと思います。私たちがステージにいるとき、私たちはただ自分自身の延長を表現するのではなく、マスクを着用してキャラクターを演じています。
By next week, we would hope to have everyone’s costumes completed, as well as having lines memorized. All help and support that can be offered from everyone is gratefully appreciated.
