Hello everyone,
Welcome to this week’s update. We talked about the coming Valentine’s day and we explained to our little ones what it is all about. We read a book about Valentine’s day and the kids tried to recognise the heart shapes they saw in the book. We, then made a craft using their handprints with red color. They were tickled when the teacher brushed their palms with red paint. They are excited to hand them to their parents. 今週のブログへようこそ！今週はもうすぐやってくるバレンタインについて、本を読んだりしながらバレンタインって何だろうという話をしました。本の中に出てくるハート型に興味を示していました。そこで、赤い絵具でMeadowさんの手形を取りバレンタインクラフトを制作しました。先生が赤い絵具で手のひらにブラシで色を付けるとくすぐったい！と大喜び。できた作品をお父さん、お母さんに渡すことをとても楽しみにしています！
Gym
Keep our bodies warm by moving a lot and do some exercise. Gym day is one of the kids’ favorite day. They are always excited to go to a wide space and move freely. This week, we used two ropes and jumped over and see how far they can jump. They were able to jump crossing two jump ropes on the floor. They also enjoyed making a long train holding the two ropes with both hands and passed by through the tunnel the teacher and some friends were making with both hands extending up. They enjoyed the gym and said “I’m hungry!” on our way back to school.
ジムレッスンでは、体を温めるために沢山エクササイズをしています。ジムは子ども達のお気に入りの日です。広い体育館を自由に走り回ることが毎回楽しみの一つです。今週は2本の長縄を使い、２本並べた縄を飛び越える活動を行いました。また、長い電車を作り、先生やお友達が手を上に伸ばして作ってくれるトンネルをくぐり楽しみました。体を動かしてお腹がすいたMeadowさん、帰りのバスの中では”I’m hungry!”と声を揃えていました。
Walk to the park
The weather was good enough to have a long-distance walk to the park. It was windy too and kids tried putting on their mittens to get rid of the cold weather. It has been a while since Meadow’s class went to the park and when we arrived there, they were busy choosing which play structures they wanted to play with. 天気も良く、公園へ歩いて行くこともできました。風が冷たい日でしたが、子ども達はミトンをしっかりとはめて歩きました。徒歩で公園へ行き始めてから数か月が経ちます。公園へ着くとお気に入りの遊具を忙しそうに選んでは次々に遊びを見つけています。以下は公園の様子です。
Family
This week, we learned the name of the family members. We asked the children’s families to bring their family photos and listened to each student introduce their family. They looked very proud showing their family pictures and say who they are.
今週からFamilyについて学び始めています。家族写真をお持ちいただき、誠にありがとうございました。子ども達は持ってきた家族写真を見ながら、自分の家族を紹介しました。みんな誇らしげに写真を見せながら家族を紹介してくれました。
It was a snowy day and we just spent our morning in the classroom. Our little learners enjoyed tearing the newspapers. After tearing, we threw up in the air like a shower. We provided plastic bags for them to fill in the torn newspapers and play them like a ball. Some kids kicked them, and threw them up. The advantage of tearing newspaper is, they have fun as well as exercising their hand muscles for the development of their fine motor skills which they use in writing and grasping objects.
雪が激しく降った金曜日は、室内で過ごしました。Meadowさんたちは、新聞紙を細かくちぎる遊びを楽しみました。破いた後、新聞をシャワーのようにして頭からかけあったりもしました。そのあと、ビニール袋を一人一人に配り、中に新聞を詰めてボールに見立てて遊びました。蹴って遊ぶお友達や、投げて遊ぶお友達。新聞を破くことは、子ども達にとって楽しい活動であると同時に、これから必要になってくる書いたりつかんだりするのに必要な指先の力を鍛える運動にもなります。
