Hello, everyone!
This week, we had our very first field trip of the school year! The Milky Way Class went to a cake shop/factory in Azumino City, where we enjoyed watching how some delicious desserts are made! This trip is in connection with our Unit on Teamwork, specifically with our LOI 1 which is about Roles and Responsibilities. In the factory, we observed how each member of the staff helped together to create some delightful treats. They each have a role in the factory and the students realize the importance of doing one’s responsibility for the sake of the group. The staff was so friendly as they wave from the other side of the glass window and showed to the kids what they were doing. The Milky Way students also did some sort of teamwork task while we were in the factory. They were divided into groups of three and each member of the group is assigned to observe and draw one glass window where they can see the staff of the factory working. Since there were three glass windows in the factory, each member of the team had the opportunity to draw what they have observed. It was indeed a fun experience for the Milky Way class and we hope that we can get more trips like this in the near future!

今週はミルキーウェイクラスにとって初めての社会見学に出かけました！安曇野市にあるケーキショップ兼お菓子工場に行き、とっても美味しそうなお菓子がどのように作られているかを見学させてもらいました。今回の見学はUOIレッスンで探求している「チームワーク」に関連していて、特に一つ目のテーマ、役割と責任について学ぶ機会になりました。工場で働く人たちは、それぞれが協力し合って素敵なお菓子を作っていることがわかりました。 一人一人に役割があり、グループの中でその責任を果たしていることが大切であることに気づきました。みなさんとても親切で、窓の向こうから子供たちに手を振ってくださったり、今やっている作業を分かりやすいように見せてくださいました。見学の間、子供たちもチームになって活動しました。3人一つのグループになり、一つの紙に交代で窓の外から見える作業を絵に描きました。 見学できるスペースには３つの大きな窓があったので、3人みんなが違う作業の絵を描きました。実際にチームで働く方たちを見ることが出来てとても楽しい社会見学になりました。近い将来、またこのような見学ができるといいなと思っています！
In Gym class, we are continuing our practices for Sport’s Day! We already have our groups for the relay race and everyone seems to run faster and faster as we get closer to the exciting event. The students are also getting better at handling the flags. We definitely need more practice in this aspect, but since everyone is enjoying this activity our improvement will be noticeable very soon! We cannot wait for you to see what we have prepared!
ジムレッスンでは、今週もスポーツフェスティバルの練習をしました。本番で走るグループでリレーの練習を行い、イベントに向けてみんなとても真剣になってきました。ダンスパフォーマンスで使うフラッグの扱いも上手になってきました。毎回どの向きで旗を持つのか、どちらの手でフラッグを持つのか確認しながら行っています。旗を使ってのパフォーマンスはカッコよくてみんなのお気に入り♬上手に踊れるようになる日も近いと思います。曲は、「Journey to the Sky（銀河鉄道999）」です。みなさんにお見せできる日が待ち遠しいです。
