We can count from 1-10 (Rainbow-October 11-14)

Hello everyone,

Rainbow クラスの保護者の皆様、こんにちは。

Welcome to the Rainbow class blog. We had a lot of fun this week. As the days are getting cooler, we have a lot of chances to explore outside, see the change in nature, the change of the color of leaves and flowers, and try doing new things.

On park day, we walked through the park. Kids did their best walking a quite long distance from school to the park. On our way, we saw a lot of things and the kids say, “leaves! it’s red and yellow! We also saw Halloween decorations and they say” Pumpkin!, yellow!”.

At the park, kids enjoyed sliding down the slide, climbing up, and running around the park. Climbing up and holding the chain wasn’t easy but kids had a strong grasping ability and thought of how to prevent themselves from falling down. They had a blast playing and taking turns with their friends.

Learning numbers 1-10

This month, we have started learning numbers from 1-10. Rainbow students were confident enough to recite the numbers in front of their friends. We did the activity of sticking apples on the tree. They took apple flashcards and stuck on the tree and counted how many they are. Well done, Rainbow!

Long and short activity

This week, we took up long and short comparisons. First, we showed long and short objects named them, and sorted them into the appropriate boxes. We also did the tugging box activity. The kids were entertained doing the activity by pulling the rope and were surprised when they pulled the short and long ones. They were able to say the names of objects in phrases like “long hair! long pencil! long banana! short hair! short pencil! short banana!” Tugging also encourages and develops the children’s improving fine motor skills.

Gym day

This week, the kids enjoyed rolling their bodies on the soft mat. They tried to balance their bodies just to stay on the mat while rolling. Then, they started to fold the mat into a tunnel and crawled. Please have a look at how they enjoyed the activity.
