It’s all in a days work for our Elementary Class students as we wind down our Summer Program. Certainly all students have enjoyed making new friends and participating in a variety of exciting as well as challenging activities. When asked to give feedback, everyone contributed some great ideas ensuring that next year’s Summer Program will be even better.
We ended our week using new lego pieces to make some very creative constructions. Students were also very motivated to learn how to play the new minion game; even though it requires quite a lot of organizing, everyone has mastered it after just 3 games. Finally today we decided to give our garden a makeover as it is 3 months since we started. From this endeavor we have harvested and enjoyed eating many vegetables. Although the flowers are growing well, the vegetables have died off; After pulling up all the old plants, we are now ready to plant again Students are looking forward to growing and eating some more healthy food before Autumn sets in.
Summer Programでは、Elementary Classのみんなは新しいお友達を作ったり、チャレンジングな面白い活動に積極的に取り組んだりと素晴らしい経験を得ることができました。ブリジット先生がクラスに戻り、Summer Programが終わった後様々な意見やフィードバックが子どもたちの口からあがりました。それらの意見や経験を活かして来年はさらに進化したプログラムをお届けできることでしょう。
1週間の締めくくりには、レゴでとても想像力豊かな物を作りました。ブリジット先生がオーストラリアから持ち帰ったミニオンのゲームは理解するのに少し難しいかと思いましたが、子どもたちは3回ほど遊んだ後にはすでにゲームのルールや遊び方を良く理解し、楽しんで遊ぶことができました。 また、春から夏（約３ヶ月）にかけて美味しい野菜が育っていた菜園ですが、秋が本格的に始まる前にもう少し美味しい野菜を食べられるよう、菜園の手入れや土の植え替えをしました。子ども達一人ひとりが植えた、苗はやっと見事なカラフルな花を咲かせました！
