✅ Unit of Inquiry
This week we watched another video about “Pet Care Basics”. We have learned that pets need food, water, shelter, exercise, potty, grooming, and health care. After watching the video, Aurora class thought that doing such things are good. Then students picked out photos that they thought show good actions. One student picked out a picture of a girl walking with a dog. The other one is a picture of a girl giving food to a dog and the last one is a picture giving water to a cat. Aurora class has now gotten a clear understanding of what it means to care for pets. Some of students said they have a pet dog at home. We also read a story about a hedgehog living in the mountain and a story about taking care of a dog.
今週も、ビデオ鑑賞をしました。“Pet Care Basics”というタイトルのビデオを観ました。ペットには、みず、ご飯、家、運動、トイレ、手入れ、そして健康管理(food, water, shelter, exercise, potty, grooming, and health care)が必要である事を学びました。観た後、みんなこれらは必要でペットにすべき”良い事”と理解していました。そして、何枚かの写真から、映像に関係するものを一枚えらび、good actionに分類しました。犬を散歩している女の子や、食事を与えている絵、そして、お水を与えている絵を分類しました。この活動を通して、オーロラのみんなはペットをケアする、という事の意味を知り、しっかり学びました。何名かのお友達が、犬を飼っていると言っていました。また、ハリネズミの本を読んだり、犬のお世話についての本も読みました。
✅ Outside Walk
We went for a walk around the neighborhood. While walking at the agricultural area, we discovered much to our delight that the mulberry bush were in full fruit. We stopped awhile and have a close look of mulberry fruit. お散歩にも出かけました。畑の周りを散歩し、マルベリーを見つけたり、沢山の発見がありました。足を止めてしばらくたわわに実っているマルベリーを観察しました。
✅ Craft
We had fun making a craft using a paper cup, a straw, and a transparent plastic bag. We inserted the straw in a small hole of the cup and fastened the transparent plastic on the other end which is inside the cup and blow it up on the outside end of the straw. Do you know what makes this craft interesting? It’s the drawing of a cat or a dog on the plastic bag after blowing. 紙コップ、ストロー、ビニル袋を使用したクラフトをしました。ビニール袋にストローを入れテープで固定し、紙コップに小さな穴を開けてストローを通して仕上げました。ふー、と空気を入れると風船のように膨らむ過程を楽しみました。膨らむと、あら、ネコ/犬が出てきました！
