We have had some very fun activities this week! Monday we used the bells in music class. We have started our practice and the students have done a great job. Tuesday we had our swimming class, Wednesday we had gym, and then a UOI lesson afterwards.
今週は楽しい活動がたくさんありました。月曜日はミュージックレッスンで初めて鈴を使いました。クリスマスショーの曲を使って鈴の使い方を教わりました。火曜日はスイミングレッスンがありました。水曜日は体操教室があり、マットの上でお芋さんのように転がりました。その後スクールに戻りUOIのレッスンをしました。
The students really enjoyed this lesson since Ms. Shizuka and I did some fun role playing. We acted like we were students but we were not playing well together. The students were able to see that it was wrong and told us what magic words to use instead of being mean to each other. We have been hearing a lot more positive communication between the students since starting this unit.
UOIのレッスンでは、私（Ms. Courtney)とMs. Shizukaがみんなの前でロールプレイを見せたので、とても楽しめたようです。先生達がお友達と上手に遊べていない子供同士の役をして見せて、お友達によくない態度をするよりも、どんなMagic Wordsを使えばいいかみんなに聞きました。このユニットの学習を始めてから、お友達同士での良いコミュニケーションがどんどん増えています！
Thursday was very exciting! We were able to harvest our sweet potatoes. A representative from JA came to help us. All the students and teachers helped to dig out all of the sweet potatoes. Some of them were small, but a lot were really big. The students were able to take one home and we were all able to enjoy eating some for snack as well. We harvested a lot of sweet potatoes.
木曜日はオーロラさんにとって思い出深い一日になりました。JAの方にお手伝いに来て頂き、みんなで育てたサツマイモの収穫をしました！みんなにビニールのマルチを外してもらい、お芋が傷つかないよう丁寧に掘っていきました。小さい物もありましたが、大きなお芋も沢山ありました♫ 収穫したお芋の一部をスナックタイムに食べて、残りは一人ずつ家に持ち帰りました。お芋がたくさん採れてみんな大興奮でした。
Friday we had our campus birthday party. It was a fun time to celebrate all the October birthdays. We really enjoyed the party. Afterwards we walked to the park and played a game with everyone while we were there.
金曜日は10月生まれのお友達のお誕生日会をしました。Ms.Taekoにハロウィンの絵本を読んでもらい、10月生まれのお友達の誕生日をお祝いしました。その後みんなで歩いて公園に行き、ゲームをしたりして遊びました。

お芋掘りに際し、軍手のご準備、またお家での練習ありがとうございました。お芋があまり好きではない子も収穫したお芋はもりもり食べていました。自分たちで育てたお芋の味は格別ですね！良い週末をお過ごしください。
