Happy 2019 to all! A chilly start to the new year but we are looking forward to all the fun and laughter to warm our hearts! We started the year with teaching Meadow the greeting “Happy New Year” and that January is the start of 2019.
あけましておめでとうございます。2019年、新しい年の始まりです。新年は寒い日から始まりましたが、みんな温かい笑顔で笑いと楽しさを待っていたかのように初日をスタートさせました。 新年一番に”Happy New Year”の言葉を学び、また1月が始まりの月ということも学びました。
Our topic for the month is Comparison and Opposites – big small, long short, in out, up down, hot cold. We have a very lively song too about opposites, please see the video below. In class, we stepped up and down; we jumped in and out of hoops.
今月のトピックはComparison and Opposites、はんたい言葉です。例えば、 big に対してsmall, long に対しshort, in とout, up down, hot coldなどになります。歌もありますので、以下を参照にご家庭でもお楽しみください。
For Music class, we were introduced new songs, including “Hokey Pokey” and “I’m A Little Snowman”. Meadow enjoyed the actions and moved along with the music.
Musicクラスでは新しい曲を、学びました。 “Hokey Pokey” と “I’m A Little Snowman”です。これらの曲に合わせて踊るダンスも楽しみました。
From this month onwards, we will review letters A to Z. We encourage the children to recognise the starting letters of their names too. This helps them understand the relevance in learning the language.
今月からは、A to Zを総復習し始めています。自分の名前はどのアルファベットから始まるのかを確認することで、アルファベットの認識につなげています。このことから他の単語へと知識を広げていきます。
We had our “Stranger Danger” school drill. We locked the classroom door, sat away from the door… in total silence. We were very impressed the children! They understood the seriousness of the practice and listened really well. Good job! Another busy happy week has passed. Have a restful long weekend ahead.
今日はスクールにて、不審者避難訓練を行いました。クラスのドアを施錠し、ドアから離れて待機します。みんな真剣に取り組むことが出来て、感激でした。訓練を真剣に捉え、みんな先生の言うことをしっかり聞いていました。Good job!今週もhappy に過ごせました。お休みは3日間となります。ゆっくりお過ごしください。
